Re: OCed in Kentucky
Thread drift, but if you had of been able to cross the US 60 bridge from IL to MO, you end up running the levee at Bird's Point. That is where they blew out the levee in 2011 to route the floodwaters into the New Madrid flood-way and protect Cairo from flooding. If they had let it flood it would ha...

Re: OCed in Kentucky
Thanks Keith, I missed that part when I was looking things up. I expected to be in IL just long enough to get from KY to MO, about a mile, but the bridge was closed. It is normally less than a mile in IL when the 60 bridge between IL and MO is open. However, that detour you had to take puts you rig...

Re: OCed in Kentucky
Good thing nothing was said, just in case you might have been in the wrong... I never take a persons word for it.. . . . I always look up the state statutes before traveling and even use "Legal Heat" app on iphone to double check the laws in that state. Just a good habit to get into when ...

OCed in Kentucky
My wife and I stopped in Cadiz KY to view a Quilt Exhibition. While we were walking through the show I saw two different people carrying openly, so I asked one of them, and took him at his word, that OC is legal in KY, so I did. Not one person even looked twice or commented. The City of Cadiz was ha...

Not like it makes a great deal of difference, all that info is out there for the having.
Another anti-gun nut publication does something that appears to the unknowing to be something positive.

Some of the nicest folks I have I have encountered have been bikers. Now sailors, they are just a bunch of Sperry wearing drunks. :biggrinjester: To the OP, sounds like you are on the right track. Whether based on what you are riding, your skin color, your age, the fact that you are an out of towne...

Re: Pasadena gun show - AG complaint filed
I believe I read it here but: the city requires insurance in order to rent the venue & the gun show organizer cant get insurance unless he abides by the insurance company's provisions. The insurance company stipulates the firearm policies. Too bad. If your insurance company required you to have...

Re: The most even handed gun policy post I've ever read
It in an attempt at even-handedness by someone who clearly believes that "gun control" is a good idea. The talk of compromise throughout (if one side gives this, what should they expect to get in return) is interesting, but evades some basic issues that 2A advocates are quick to articulat...

Re: Do civilians with guns ever stop mass shootings?
OF course the anti-gun nuts get to deny these were or would have been mass shootings because: 1) the good guy stopped the crime from developing into a mass shooting, and 2) there is no indication in any of the events that it would have been a mass shooting.

Maybe it gives the appearance of even handedness because of the language he uses, but then you see the charts he presents, including ones by MAIG.

Re: Hillary Clinton Plan for Gun Restrictions
I have never been clear on the laws pertaining to "gun shows." One joke about gun shows is that they mainly sell AR accessories and beef jerky. :) Plus, the guns they do sell tend to be over-priced. Ain't a flea-market folks. How many guns do you have to sell to require a Federal Firearms...

Re: Public Forum Campus Carry
This is going to get interesting. The radio this morning reported that "about" 150 professors at UT last night signed a petition indicating that would not allow guns in their classrooms. Do they even have the legal authority to demand it? No and this was discussed at a public meeting on M...

Re: Comic Potential in ICD-10 Codes
One of the problems with having to use codes as opposed to plain text. Of course computers don't recognize plain text, so there has to be a code for EVERYTHING> Decades ago we had codes at the phone company, for literally every type of trouble closeout that anyone could think of. The problem was tha...
