Re: Twist Rate Affects Ballistic Coefficient

The relationship between twist and BC is being overly simplified here. They are looking at a three dimensional issue in two dimensions. All bullets wobble (technical term is yaw) to a certain degree when they leave the muzzle. This is caused by a number of factors and depend on the bullet aerodynami...

Re: Not only a President, but a man of honor and humility

He is as real as they come. While he was Governor there was a ceremony in Fort Worth following the mass shooting at the baptist church in 1999 or so. He was asked to speak but declined because he did not wish to politicize the event. A camera man took an image of him in the tunnel of the stadium whe...

Re: "Justice," Commiefornia style

Unbelievable. The forum rules won't let me post my visceral reaction to this. As an adoptive father of three children who suffered abuse at the hands of other adults, I can almost ensure you that little girl will be mentally traumatized for the rest of her life. It is well documented that children w...

Re: When RSOs fail...

I first saw this video on another forum. The comments included that the guy downrange was also hard of hearing. That plus the other shots gong off in other bays probably led him to be complacent. This stage setup needed two rso's. One downrange or at a spot where they could clearly see the back of t...

Re: The Marketing Genius of Samuel Colt

Thank you Eagle - that is the point I was attempting to make. Actually, I was unaware that Walker fought the Seminoles or that the Seminoles fought Texans. Good discussion.

Re: The Marketing Genius of Samuel Colt

The Texas Rangers did not fight in the Seminole War. The author got that part of the story a bit confused. Also, I've never heard that Colt himself "named" the 1851 Colt Navy. I thought that came about in popular jargon because of the naval scene roll stamped on the cylinder. Guns made aft...

Re: Ruger Commander Sized Night Watchman

I read over on the Ruger forum and on the 1911 forum that the Ruger's have had front sight issues. Apparently, the MIM front sight was under strength and has snapped off during recoil. I understand that Ruger has been offering free replacements. Yet I also read that some have experienced the problem...

Ruger Commander Sized Night Watchman

I just ran across this commander sized 45 last night. I had been looking at getting the standard Ruger Commander in stainless finish. Apparently, the Night Watchman model comes with Tritium sights which I would have put on the standard Ruger anyway. Does anyone here own one of these? They seem to be...

Let's see... Ruger 1911 LW Commander, or a CMP M1, or a Sharps in 45-70... Too many wishes.
