Re: TX AG Opinion: Non-profits rent'g gov't prop at arms-length may post
So the AG is making a distinction in an opinion where none exists within the statutes??? Texas penal code clearly states that property owned or leased by a gov't agency cannot be posted with 3.06/.07 notice nor can licensed handgun carry be prohibited unless the property falls under a place prohibi...

Re: TX AG Opinion: Non-profits rent'g gov't prop at arms-length may post
So the AG is making a distinction in an opinion where none exists within the statutes??? Sounds sort of like what the AG in Massachusetts did regarding AR rifles a couple of weeks ago. Texas penal code clearly states that property owned or leased by a gov't agency cannot be posted with 3.06/.07 not...

Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast
No real protocol to know. We start getting to Kelley's in Pearland about 8:15 or 8:30. They let us push together a few tables on the left side of the restaurant, so we're usually pretty easy to spot. Make sure to bring an appetite. The Kelley's menu is built on grand-scale portions.

I've dropped off friends at the port while carrying with no problem.

Re: Adjusting clothing in public bathroom mirror
I don't think that much would need to change post-campus carry. When I go into a restroom stall, I usually make all of my adjustments while still in the stall then do a quick check in the mirror before I leave the restroom. I'm guessing that the same could hold true for women?

Re: Kids and guns
My son just turned 4. About 6 months or so ago he started asking me questions about my carry gun. I answered all of his questions. We then sat down & watched the Eddie Eagle video (and have watched it again several times since then). I've gone over the 4 cardinal rules of safety with him then le...

Re: Why does verbal warning trump compliant signage?
I strongly support private property rights. But it does bother me that a property that is open to the general public has the force of law like this. I may be wrong, but most all other trespass issues are if you do not leave - then you face the long arm of the law. It probably will not happen, but I...

Re: So Good News, Bad News
Doesn't NJ also have some pretty restrictive laws on what type of firearms, magazine capacities, and ammunition types that one can possess? 'Restrictive' is putting it lightly. NJ is downright draconian when it comes to firearms & ammo. You can't even loan someone ammo within the People's Repub...

Re: Why does verbal warning trump compliant signage?
TPC 30.06 was created so that business owners could give licensees EFFECTIVE NOTICE that handguns are prohibited, not to force business owners to jump through additional hoops. The signage requirement was created so that licensees would be able to see the signs from the parking lot, allowing them to...

Re: So Good News, Bad News
Oh man question #3 popped into my head. With a non-resident license do you think I would be able to come home on vacation and pick up a new toy while in town without issue? Simple answer - No You would have to have the firearm transferred to an FFL in your resident state (NJ) and comply with all of...

Re: Winchester white box question
I've shot several thousand rounds of WWB in 9mm, .40 and .45acp. If I've had any issues with the ammo, it hasn't been in enough of a number to reliably remember. With any manufacturer, you run a risk of getting a bad round or two or even a bad box or so. If there are enough malfunctions in a box, it...

Re: So Good News, Bad News
After a bit more digging I've found a link that seems pretty up to date. http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/NonResidentPermits.pdf It lists what states will take a Non-residents license and from the looks of it it'll cover the states we'll be visiting when on our "trip." Now I just need t...

Re: S&W Shield 9mm question
I have a relatively late model non-PC 9mm shield that I carry almost every day. I did change the sights to Ameriglo night sights, but everything else is stock. My shield was fairly stiff out of the box, but loosened up nicely after about 100-200 rounds. I find the trigger to be crisp with very littl...

Re: Why does verbal warning trump compliant signage?
Okay, let's look at it this way...and I'm completely on board with property owners rights, btw. If verbal notice holds weight of law, then shouldn't ANY sign that communicates "no guns allowed" , even the gun buster sign, be allowed? After all, they effectively communicate they don't want...
