Re: Allen Event Center posted 06 & 07
Sorry this is a few days late and couple dollars short, but a friend and I went to the gun show at the Allen Event Center two weekends ago and upon entering saw two 06 & 07 signs as we paid. The Texas3006.com web site also says the signs are invalid. Who do we need to contact to get them to obe...

Electrician advice - power cord for table saw and vac
I have a portable table saw that I use with a small shop-vac for dust collection. Currently, I plug both the saw and the vac into the same extension cord and turn them both on/off individually. While cleaning the dust out from underneath the saw recently, I noticed that there is about a foot of powe...

Priorities for 2019 legislative session
My thoughts for those things that would have the most significant impact on my day-to-day carry, in priority order: 1.Expand the protection that prohibits a person from being fired just for having a gun in their locked car to also cover licensed carry on the premises, even while at work. In other wo...

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class
How did you find out what number you are on the list? I called them. There was a problem with documents from several of my past classes not uploading correctly, so they didn't have an official record that I met the four-class requirement. I called them to get that straightened out and they told me ...

How many acres needed for shooting?
My wife are getting to the age that we're starting to talk about what's "next" in our lives. One thing we've been talking about is buying some acreage that would allow me to setup a small range for my personal use and an occasional shooting and/or LTC class. Someone once told me - and I do...

Re: On line classes have started
The form seems to imply that the proficiency is separate from the instruction - two different signatures to indicate you spent 1-2 hours in instruction, then did the proficiency. I could be wrong, of course, but that's the way the form comes across to me. Also, I would hardly consider just shooting ...

Re: On line classes have started
The form states 1 - 2 hours. I was interested mainly in requirements as to content. I can't open the Online Course Provider Course Outline (PDF) - the password must be different vs. the "normal" course outline. I'll check my notes when I get home, but I don't remember any specifics being ...

Re: On line classes have started
It's been a long time since the renewal class in August, but I don't remember there being any specific requirements for the range instruction portion. Are there?

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
I got to go Friday all day. This is when POTUS and VP were there (though I was in the exhibit halls only). Do you know what I noticed? * Tens of millions of dollars worth of merchandise * Thousands if not tens of thousands of armed NRA members in the exhibit halls * Yet a very small police presence...

Re: Company Truck Carry
Here's my thought on why it may be against the law, and I'm no lawyer either. The truck is their property. I feel like a company policy against carrying in the truck might be similar to a business owner verbally telling me I can't carry in their store. Once a business owner tells me that, I can no ...

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
Hello, I am a producer for German TV in the U.S., and given the topic of this discussion, I thought I'd share a story we are working on. Given the wall-to-wall coverage of student gun reform protests recently, we are working on a story about high school students/teenagres who are arguing to defend ...

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
Several people have mentioned taking the DART light rail to the convention. If you do, read below; in short, stay concealed. https://www.dart.org/riding/opencarry.asp CARRYING ON A DART VEHICLE Customers can still carry a handgun when riding DART. However, if someone is carrying openly, bus or rail ...
