Re: Did we get a win from the SCOTUS

IANAL, but what he is saying definitely makes sense to me. I was not aware of the doctrine of Chevron deference, but that clearly sounds like a bad precedent since it essentially allows the executive to interpret law (which is the job of the judiciary), and / or make new law (which is the job of the...

Re: Uvalde School shooting

I went through mist of the posts in this thread and did not see this mentioned. Apologies if I missed it. I know that the police do not have an affirmative legal duty to protect us from crime. But in this case, the police went a step further and actively assisted the criminal by preventing others fr...

Re: Nobody but John Cornyn

"Compromise" In the immortal words of Andre the Giant: "You keep using that word. I don't think you know what it means." In a compromise, each side gives up something in order to get something. I know what Cornyn gave up: Red flag laws, extended background checks, more money to ...

Re: Uvalde School shooting

If someone can show actual evidence that LGBTQ+ people are significantly more likely to commit violent felonies, then a discussion about restricting their access to weapons might make sense. But without that type of evidence, it just comes across as bigoted, to be mild.

Re: TX: Uncle taught 9 yo how to rack the slide

My kids learned how to rack slides and also how to disassemble and reassemble various firearms before they were 9. They also learned the gun safety rules and never once failed to clear a gun themselves before handling it even if I had cleared it in front of them 2 seconds previously. They were a gre...

Re: SBRs and AR Pistols plus…

What our pro 2A Org like NRA have in purview after we take control of the House (and hopefully the Senate). Is there a glimpse to get this insanity eradicated? While we are at it, suppressors being a NFA item is insane. Makes zero sense. Does anyone know if there is a strategy to get some of these ...

You can't stop the signal.
Does their machine exist? On their web site I can only find an option to place a deposit.

We should give them all tents to set up. Theres a decent amount of open grassy areas in the city they could use.

Re: Ghost Guns

So…is the cup holder in my truck also in need of a vin# now? Maybe the rear axle and tires too? Actually any piece of metal or plastic must be registered as a firearm, and also a vehicle, as well as anything else it can be "easily converted" into. This include any objects you own that are...

Re: Any guesses as to how many folks are carrying concealed under constitutional carry?

Good question. It's hard to estimate. Some CC'ers might be individuals who had let their LTC expire or were unwilling or unable to pay the fee and do the paperwork. On the other side, not everyone who has an LTC actually carries. At it's peak, around one-third of the population of New Hampshire had...

Re: Any guesses as to how many folks are carrying concealed under constitutional carry?

My thoughts are those who were going to carry already had a LTC. I am like you one in a thousand. Those who were serious about carrying I believe went out the day they were legally able and to the LTC class. I am keeping my LTC just for the reciprocity sake because of the traveling we do. Just in t...

Re: supreme court nominee

I'm just impressed with the qualifications of everyone who has every sat on the SC. I didn't even realize that one needed to hold a degree in a specific area in order to answer the most basic questions / make basic determinations. Just using the case of pornography, who knew that all SC justices at ...

Re: What constitutes a SBR? (AR-15 specific question)

Does the mere possession of a short barrel upper and a rifle stock equipped lower constitute "possession" of an SBR? ATF could , if they wanted, call that 'constructive possession' - that you have the parts available to immediately assemble an SBR. Pretty ridiculous because you could have...
