You took a ten hour class? This year?OleWarSkuleAlum wrote:
So obviously I just took a CHL class here for TX at the Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club. I was extremely disappointed in the material covered. Laws and regulations was only a very minor 1 hr block of instruction and it was at the end of a 10 hour day.

Re: Wife gives the "OK"
She asked about getting a CHL the other day mainly due to the layout of the retail store she works at. She wanted to know if she could carry while working. I told her that since her store isn't posted that she possibly could as a "customer" but she would need to check store policy for emp...

You can get a gun cabinet for a hundred bucks. I implore you to not get a gun in the house until you have a way to secure it. Hiding it behind anything is not a good plan.

When conducting CHL quals, the majority of those shooting their own reloads experience non firing rounds, squids, etc., for me.

Police say Andrew Boden, 64, hid two cameras in the restroom of a Corner Bakery in the 7400 block of MacAr...

Re: I sent my CHL back to DPS; what happens?
Just curious... what do you hope to accomplish by sending it back? My guess - get off lists that can be used by law enforcement. It's a good indicator that you're armed. Some LEOs treat armed people differently. Differently bad, not differently good. There is no process for deleting records, though...

There is no restriction on action of the handgun anymore. If you could shoot the course in time, you could use a Derringer.
Regarding caliber, you must qualify with a thirty two caliber or larger.

Re: Las Vegas shooting yesterday ... CHL holder down
Very sad. One thing we always did as police officers was to evaluate the actions of everyone involved in such use of force situations. By learning we can actually honor those who give their lives. We discuss these types of incidents in my classes. I tell my students never to go to the fight. Use you...

Re: Leave the gun in the car at school parking lot?
Technically true, however, when the grounds are in use for school activities, they are also off limits by statute. Unlike K-12 schools, college campuses, the grounds, are constantly in use by students walking to class, studying under trees, etc. I don't want to be the one arguing with the DA over t...
