Re: George Floyd who died from drug overdose was from Texas
The last of George Floyd’s killers sentenced to jail. They arrested and tried Floyd's drug dealer? Floyd committed suicide by self drugging. Well dang, I missed the "?" in your post at first glance and thought you were making a statement of fact vs a rhetorical question. I misunderstood &...

Re: Renewal online
LDB415 I think you're going to be good to go without anything else required, if this is the renewal of your LTC & not an instructor renewal. If it's an instructor renewal, they will be sending you the refresher training and the test that Tex1961 mentioned in his post (if not an instructor, that ...

Re: Empty chamber carry?
My take is those who proffer the opinion that empty chamber carry is "safer" lack the baseline skills to trust themselves to not have a negligent discharge, and institutionalize this into their EDC routine rather than training to overcome their lack of confidence to safely carry with a rou...

Re: TSA Approved Lock or Non-TSA Approved Lock?
I'd recommend using 2x locks if there's eyelets for two. If the locks are not on opposing sides of long lids, it's usually possible to pry the lid open enough to get inside, or to get the contents out.. Regarding types of locks, I haven't flown with firearms since I retired out of the Army. We alway...

Re: Renewal qual
The reason I ask is that an instructor who will do my renewal says that since and because of Covid you only have to shoot the semi and no longer required to shoot revolver. Is that true? Tex Absolutely false. Instructors still required to qualify with a 90% score (225 points out of 250 possible poi...

Re: Concealed Mag Carriers?
Here's one of the better mag carriers that I've used.

I use the double mag version, & usually I can conceal it even with a tucked in dress shirt.

Re: 61 Minute of Angle Zero Shift with Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight
Nope, the Vortex guy didn't blink an eye about racking the slide using the RDS, but I think it did vector him in to looking a little closer at the front of the sight whence he realized the glass had shifted just a little bit. Racking the slide against the holster, belt, or something else sturdy enou...

Re: 61 Minute of Angle Zero Shift with Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight
Well, it turns out that the glass had actually shifted a little bit within the housing of the Viper RDS, which in turn pushed the red dot askew resulting in the drastic shift in POI. I'm glad the Vortex Rep who called me actually took the time to look it over while we were on the phone, because the ...

Someone left a block of ballistic gel on the picnic table at the range a couple months ago. I policed it up last week by peeling it off the table. It had literally melted & was dripping on the ground...

Re: 2023 Instructor Renewals
Anyone who has completed the test and paperwork received their recertification yet? I did min almost 2 weeks ago and nothing. I haven't received the link to the test yet. I submitted the application & supporting documents on 7/14, and other than the automated confirmations of receipt haven't he...

Re: Prayers needed for my middle daughter
Praying that God will use His power to heal your daughter, as a testament to His Glory. Praying that your daughter will not lose faith in God, regardless of what the doctors may say, or the outcome. Praying for you, your family, and community to have the strength to surround your daughter with love ...
