Re: Who Supports Gun Control?
I support the Eligibility requirements of obtaining a license to carry. I’m glad those that don’t meet these requirements cannot freely carry in public places.

Re: LTC denial question
It’s 5 years for any alcohol and/or drug treatment. You will be ok after 5 years to re-apply. Yes, you can carry under an out of state LTC in meantime. (like Virginia, FL, AZ, etc).

Re: Everything in proper order
To me, it’s best to first take course, then pay/apply online, then get prints taken, & lastly submit your documents (including receipt from fingerprint place).

Re: CHL Denial Question
I know I’m 100% correct on this. It’s 5 years from your judgement date. It’s not 5 years from when you completed your probation period.

Re: CHL Denial Question
It’s 5 years from your disposition date, in other words the conviction date. (date of judgement). In cases where you get deferred adjudication- it’s the date you are give. Def Adj. NOT 5 years from when you ended your probation.

Simple rule- the address on your LTC should always be the same as the address on your DL.

Re: Well... there goes Constitutional Carry
I’m glad we don’t have constitutional carry. I like that LTC holders must pass a background check based on current standards in LTC law book. I’d rather not open the door wide open for any & everyone to freely carry wherever they like. Sorry, but if you get convicted of a DWI, I’m glad you’re no...

There is no residency requirement here at all. You don’t have to worry about that what so ever.

Re: Class A Misdemeanor - Judgement "Set Aside"
Sorry but you can’t set aside a deferred adj., you can only set aside a straight conviction. I’m willing to bet this was Dallas Co., they are notorious for misusing “set aside” wording.

I plan to vote Democrat, so this forum isn’t 100% Republican. (Granted it might be 99.999%).

Re: Denial Letter: Failed to qualify under eligability criteria...
You mentioned you had a felony deferred adjudication in Texas & the charge was unauthorized use of motor vehicle correct? What was the date you were given the deferred adjudication? (not date you completed it). & what County?

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
Let’s talk reality for a moment. Reality is that no one will end License to Carry in Texas. Everyone thought Obama being elected would end “CHL”- WRONG. If Beto wins election (prob won’t anyway), will Texas do Away with “LTC”? Answer: No. Regardless if Texas has a Democrat or Republican, & regar...

No, but I want Beto to win. I know this forum is 99% straight republican. But, it’s not 100%.
