The point is what I stated. His remarks point to wanting to NOT use more force. BTDT = Been there Done that. How many here have been in a similar situation? Probably not many. Arresting someone is usually not a thing an officers enjoys, it is something that is unpleasant that happens to be necessary.

Re: And don't talk to Customs & Border Patrol, either!
Why is politeness supposed to be a one-way street? The officer (LEO or otherwise) can be as rude, nasty, or confrontational as he wants to be, yet you're supposed to be Caspar Milquetoast. The police can lie to you, but it's illegal to lie to them, even without being under oath. Seems backwards to ...

Re: Ex DPS TRP Perez charged
I dont see anything that indicates the trooper intended to cause any injury. But what we all have to keep in mind is there is video we have not seen. The actual stop, initial suspect contact, the actions that led to her being handcuffed. The video we have not seen may play a role in what led up to ...

Re: Social Security Isn't An Entitlement
By definition, it's an entitlement. The FICA that comes out of your paycheck all those years is just a tax, just like the other federal withholding. The money goes into the general fund, not some "trust fund". And the government gives you a stipend that has no real correlation with what y...

They are not compliant signs but they lend weight to criminal trespass if BWW says leave because someone notices the firearm and you aren't quick enough.

Re: Arizona Man Arrested for Guns in DC
Until we get a few things straight, the only way anyone should carry firearms to DC is with about 10,000 others who are all armed. Then the DC PD and the Parks people would just hide until everyone left.

Re: Houston: Kick-in burglars stopped by resident
Couldn't they just have called the police. That way nobody would have gotten hurt. It is clear that they just mistakenly went to the wrong appartment. Besides the cops would have been there in 20 to 30 minutes. Everyone would have just shook hands, played mamby pamby and been BFF's. Left winger wan...

Re: Galveston: Letter to the editor re police and CHL
As a former LEO from about 45 mile north of Galveston, I would agree that under the scenarios presented that would be one incompetent officer that either needs more training or fired.

Re: Vanity Fair editor thinks we are angry teenagers...with
There are good Democrats out there, but none of them work in DC or for the DNC. My Mother is a registered Democrat, but she didn't vote for Obama/Biden and she doesn't like the last two SCOTUS nominees.
Vanity Fair is a mag for teenaged females. Those people have the brains of a gnat.

Re: Shots fired in Mopac road rage incident
I just read the affidavit where they want to charge the person with the gun with a 1st degree felony. That is 5-99 years if convicted. And the fellow in the other vehicle isn't getting charged with the same? Nowhere in Texas but Austin. Also Felony charges don't go through municipal court. They go t...

Re: I finally understand liberals
Apparently liberalism is a birth defect. This makes perfect sense. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/10/28/researchers-liberal-gene-genetics-politics/ Don't hold liberals responsible for their opinion -- they can't help themselves. A new study has concluded that ideology is not just a social thin...

One thing I learned early in life was that a sure-fire way to irritate my mom was to hang from the clothesline, which made the lines sag. That made her unhappy... ...which invariably wound up with my being the recipient of a proper application of "motivation" to my hind parts. Very early ...

Re: Isn't the state fair considered a "sporting event"
When I took my CHL class, I was told that it was illegal to carry in a sporting event. I would consider the state fair to be a sporting event and is therefore illegal to carry there. :rules: It is for this exact reason that I didn't carry when I was there Saturday. Actually it IS legal to carry at ...
