Re: need help with A-15 DPMS
I've heard you don't have to break in chrome lined barrels. I'd just pull together a couple hundred rounds of ammo and just go out and have fun at the range. Get practice with the trigger and sights. As for lube, I don't use a whole lot. I wet down part of a rag after cleaning and wet down all the m...

Re: WTB: AR-15 Stripped Lower Receiver
There were a few lower receivers available at the gun show in Houston this weekend. $225 seemed to be the low price though. Almost twice the price of last summer.

Re: CZ VZ 58 - Opinions?
I have heard about them. I heard they were something more like a modernized SKS design than an AK. The collector and shooter in me would love to get one, but the cost of the rifle plus magazines would be higher than I can afford right now, even without the current semi-auto prices. I didn't realize ...

Re: Springfield Ultra Compact .45 report
A good brass brush can help get into the rails as well.
I had an Ultracompact a while back. It was a good gun, but did need to be kept clean. Most 1911's I have handled were that way.

Anyone who refers to a gun as a GAT, I just can't see wasting time on. :)
I have bought guns in the last few months. I honestly didn't buy anything I wasn't considering anyway, I just did it sooner than I would have otherwise.

FYI, I got one new a couple months ago at Collector's Firearms in Houston. I'm not selling mine though. Good pistol.

Re: Failed CHL Proficiency
I saw people in my last renewal that looked like they failed. I know a few people shot again after everyone else was done. There were a few people with cheap Hi points or other pistols. Some of them had trouble with them. In my first class, a guy brought in a cheap Jennings 9mm new in box that he ha...

Re: 7.62x39 ammo choices
I have never had issues with using any AK ammo either. However, corrosive AK ammo is corrosive. If you don't clean your rifle, you WILL see corrosion in the barrel and the gas tube area. Don't ask me how I know. On the comment about steel case in AR's, I have used steel case in brand new A...

Re: What are the best AK-47's for sale in the U.S.A?
My opinion on the best: The Vepr rifles are really good guns. Mine is accurate and tough. I have fired a Saiga 223 that was fun to shoot and reliable as any AK. Really good fit and finish. It was a converted rifle though, not the 10 round version. I have heard the Arsenal guns are very good, but I h...
