Re: Lawsuit takes aim at The Arms Room

It is completely possible she has hearing damage in ten minutes if her muffs weren't seated correctly. One of the many reasons it is always a good idea to double up at indoor ranges. The other being that muffs alone aren't capable of bringing the noise level of gun shots in a cement room down to sa...

Re: Employment

Just put down the dates that you were unemployed and state that you were unemployed.

There is no requirement that you have a job or spotless work history, they just want to know what you were doing and where for the background checks.

That is basically what I said, but there are a number of posts talking about people soaking up exorbitant numbers of bullets in police shootouts.

Re: New mamber with a bunch of questions...Sorry

I'm not advocating against carrying spare mags, by any means, but comparing the kinds of defensive situations you might find yourself in as a CHL (let's hope not) to protracted police shootouts is probably not apples to apples. The main difference being that as a CHL your main goal is not to apprehe...

Re: Aiming properly with both eyes open

I have this problem shooting pistols. Rifles I don't have this problem at all.

I think it is because with rifles you tend to be up a lot closer to the rear sight and it blocks out some of the distraction from the right eye.

Our bodies/brains are weird things.

In Houston I'd have to recommend Blake's on Jeanetta for BBQ.

Re: Firefox problems

I was about to create a thread here detailing my exodus from Firefox. I've been a loyal user for a number of years but it's been getting slow... way too slow. I'm trying Chrome as of now. I got tired of the weekly updates and typing while having nothing show up, then all the text appearing magicall...

Re: Extermely un-nerving encounter.....

I don't think there is any reason to get all worked up. Some people agreed with you. Some people didn't agree with you. I disagreed with you, I don't think I was disrespectful, and I tried to present a logical rationale for my disagreement. Sorry if it offended you, and I hope it doesn't make you no...

Re: Extermely un-nerving encounter.....

Generally, I agree with you. But just like brakes can fail on a car, or a fire starting in a car just sitting (not started) in a driveway, I have to allow for Murphy, and therefore I won't say "ain't never gonna happen unless the booger hook is on the bang switch" relative to a gun going ...

Re: Firefox problems

I'm particularly fond of the FireBug add-on, so I'll keep FireFox. I have noted that version 10x seems to be just a bit slower rendering complex sites than later versions of 9 seemed, and there's got to be reason v11 is in beta after only two minor production releases of v10. I admit that the guts ...

Re: Firefox problems

Firefox is my favorite browser primarily because of the web developer tools available as an add-on. In the last several weeks, I have had the following problems on an intermittent but frequent basis: 1) webpages don't render correctly (breaks out of frames, tables, CMS templates, etc.); 2) "pr...

Remove the word "pocket" and you have exactly my point.

Re: Extermely un-nerving encounter.....

For those of you who have said it would make you uncomfortable, do you ever carry in a pocket holster?

Would you be uncomfortable sitting across the table from someone carrying in a pocket holster?

Why or why not?

Re: Question About An Old Arrest And Eligibility

I had a similar issue. I was arrested years and years ago and the case just vanished. Never went to court. Never heard anything else about it. I contacted the lawyer I used back then and he no longer had any records. I had him get a certified copy of a records search from the court that said no reco...
