Re: Want to buy Snake Charmer .410
My wife keeps a H&R Tamer .410 handy. Sweet shooting little gun. She has killed several cotton mouths with it. But it's not for sale.

Re: Shotgun by the door / ready condition?
I keep a shotgun on my Kawasaki Mule in a gun rack 24/7. I ride in dusty conditions a lot, and there are hundreds of dirt dobbers in an out of my shop where it stays parked. I keep a little bag of balloons in the glove box of the mule. I put one of those balloons over the end of the barrel. Tape mig...

Re: Traveling to the North East
FWIW I was stationed up in both CT and RI for 7 years. I only had my 12 gauge with me the entire time and hunted in both states. I had Arkansas plates at the time, and I went back in 2016 to pick up a sailboat and had Texas plates that trip. I never got hassled by LE at any time, even when pulling ...

Re: Traveling to the North East
Yes, I do. I am looking at my CT Pistol Permit right now, and noting that it expires in January... . I have one from DC too, but it expired a couple weeks ago because I couldn't get back in-person to renew it due to COVID. I have this strange hobby of collecting these out of state permits. ...

Re: Traveling to the North East
I have two reasons for going. Both involve members of my family who are in the military. And this won't happen till next year. Right now there is a 14 day quarantine if you are from Texas. I'm just in the planning stages. Check. From my family to yours :tiphat: Thank you for their service. :txflag:...

Re: Traveling to the North East
If your 1 night stay is at your son's house, that's a "visit". No FOPA protection. If your 1 night stay is in a hotel along the way, I'd urge you to reconsider your schedule and avoid it. Reading FOPA, I don't see anything about overnight stay protection. https://www.nraila.org/articles/2...

Re: Traveling to the North East
That begs the question, If I am travelling from Texas and eventually get back to Texas, how long must I stay somewhere else in order for that to be considered to be the end of my journey? I'm not a lawyer, but I see that there could be various interpretations of what "to and from" mean. I...

Re: Traveling to the North East
I was born & lived in the northeast for many years before settling in Texas. But, I've not been back in about 17 months. I've heard rumors for years that certain license plates from firearm friendly states, Tx is one, that will get pulled over just because. I've not been pulled over (in a while...

Here is what New Jersey law says. This federal law permitting interstate transportation of a firearm applies only if all of the following requirements are met: The person's possession of the firearm was lawful in the state in which the journey began; The person's possession of the firearm will be la...

Re: Traveling to the North East
https://handgunlaw.us Look up each state you are planning on traveling through and check their requirements for transporting a firearm. Yeah, the big hang up is that in order to legally travel through NY you have to able to legally possess your gun at your destination. I guess my destination is goi...

Traveling to the North East
There was another post about traveling to New England that appeared here about 12 years ago. I have read that one. But I would like to get an update from the people here on this forum that keep up with state laws from north east. I am planning a trip that will take the wife and I through Tennessee, ...

She's a senior in high school, and small in stature. I've been deer hunting for almost 50 years now. And I've taught several young people what I've learned. And, this is the part of your question that I focused on. Having taught my children, and my grandchildren now, to shoot I would say that when ...

Re: NY attorney general seeks to dissolve NRA
INMO this is purely a political move designed to elevate her higher in the ranks of the radical anti-American left. In that vein, it is an abuse of power from the office she was elected to. The real problem is not that these elected politicians on the left do what the do. The root of the problem is ...

Mr. Cotton, check out this website. https://portal.ampr.org/

Re: Let’s talk .22 pistols
Well you said you wanted a semi, and I've got a couple. But my favorite .22 handgun is my Ruger Single Six. And I use it more often with magnum ammo than .22Lr. It comes with interchangeable cylinders so you get two revolvers in one. I, too, have a Ruger Single Six Convertible and loads of boolits ...
