Oh great, I have to go there next Sunday for a college event, and of course cannot be armed.

If they have not posted the correct TABC Blue sign, you should report them to the TABC.

Re: Bay City 51% Sign...

OK, I see wha you're talking about. It's just that I've had trouble searching the TABC site because the name search has to be specific. That's why I use the county listings to get the license number, makes it a whole lot easier.

Re: Bay City 51% Sign...

That's not entirely true. A look through any county listing from the TABC will show business names different from owner's names in many cases. one of two things has happened here: 1) what you said, they sold the business without transferring the license properly, or 2) more likely, since the license...

Re: HB 695

I was recently at MD Anderson, and was surprised I did not see any 30.06 signs. Then I saw UT police providing security, so I would agree those places are probably "campus" as well.

Re: Viet Nam War myths and Facts

Most seems accurate to my recollection. I believe the reason Viet Nam was different was one thing - television. Never before had the horrors of war been brought into the living room so immediately, and the Amercian public recoiled. It gave an overly powerful assist to the antis who are present in ev...

Re: Avoid Maryland

My understanding is that states must allow transport of firearms IAW a federal law, but that law requires the firearm be unloaded and locked up or disassembled. I've "transported" throught Illinois in that manner. BTW, did you know that Illinois' new CC laws now allow non-residents with CH...

Re: 9mm vs 380

my two cents. I have a Ruger LCP 380 Auto. It is easy to CC, but that ammo has serious limitations IMO. At my club range we have steel knockdowns. This week, they were freshly painted, so I could see the impacts. My ,45 PX4 had no problem at ten yards. From the same distance, I could see the 380 rou...

Re: What Police Dept is This?

He was probably a federal investigator doing a security clearance investigation called a Special Backgroud Investigation (SBI) for one of your neighbors. He would have had a badge and ID, and the actions you describe fit this process. Whoever was being invesigated would not even know about it. I hav...

The word is "presumption". In Texas, if you are in your house or your vehicle, there is a presumption that you do not have to prove to use deadly, according to a lawyer I talked to.

Re: carrying with a blue 51%

an establishment's license will specify Blue or Red. It can't be both. A restaurant cannot have a blue sign out front, and a red sign at the bar for example. For a CHL, Blue sign, carry away. There are some unusual places where a Red sign does apply, even tho the venue may appear to be Blue, such as...

Re: Its About Time....

I had a corporal in Viet Nam who was shot a second time by an ARVN. We gave him a purple heart for that one. I think the Ft Hood soldiers deserve some sort of recognition, and this is in keeping with George Washington's intent: "The General ever desirous to cherish virtuous ambition in his sold...

Re: US Army Official M-16A1 Operation and Maintenance Bookle

Notice the date. Many instruction manuals were published like comic books during the Viet Nam war. Because of the draft and Project 100,000, there were a lot of poorly educated troops, but they found they could get them to read if they made the material more attractive and what they may have been us...
