Re: Instructor renewal

On 9/15/2013 I replied to an email from RSD_LRS_CHL@dps.texas.gov and requested a spot in the CHL Instructor Renewal Class in Georgetown on 11/6/2013. Having heard nothing from them, I sent a second email request on 10/10/2013. Today after seeing on this forum that a number of instructors have recei...

Re: CHL Instructor Renewal

On Sep 14th DPS' CHL Unit notified me by email of Instructor Renewal classes in El Paso, Houston, and Georgetown. DFW would be better for me but to speed things up, I requested a spot in the Nov 6th Instructor Renewal Class in Georgetown. So far I have received no response to my email. Has anyone re...

Re: Typo Correction

Thanks, kg5ie. I was hoping DPS or someone would change the CHL-100 form so that it can be filled out and saved. CHL-8 is still on the wish list. I do not have Adobe Acrobat or any other way to modify PDF files, or I would do it.

Re: Just took the NRA Basic Instructor Course

I completed the BIT And Basic Pistol Instructor courses Thursday and Friday with William Crowe in Royse City, and it was well worth the 90 mile drive. There were 12 people in the class including 4 current CHL Instructors. Three of the people drove up from Monroe LA. Mr. Crowe was motivated and well ...

Re: My Audit

Just finished. Kristi and Bryan from the Mount Pleasant Office came to my home this time, where as last year I met with Kristi in an office down town. I had everything laid out when they arrived, so it only took about 15 minutes.

Revised CHL-7, CHL-8, and CHL-70 on the DPS Website

I just checked the Downloadable Forms section of the DPS Website. CHL-7, CHL-8, and CHL-70 have been revised. The main difference that I noticed is that on the CHL-7 and CHL-8 they have removed the option to send them in by email. They now specify to either Fax the forms or upload them to the "...

Re: Emailing CHL Paperwork??

Is there still a requirement to send in the CHL-6 form now that they use the TXDL photo? If I still need to send it in, do I have place a photograph on it? Great RCBS Customer Service

I recently contacted RCBS regarding a Rock Chucker press I have owned since 1973. The problem was that the pin started backing out of the ram. RCBS promptly sent me a new pin with lock rings under warranty - no charge.

Re: Audit Complete

My audit was completed yesterday. I met with a nice lady from the Mount Pleasant DPS Compliance office. She asked the questions on the form we all received last year, I signed some forms, and the whole thing was over in less than half an hour. It was an audit in name only. I was prepared to show my ...

CHL Renewal Application Forms

CHL holders who elect to submit paper Renewal Applications evidently no longer have to request a Renewal Application Form from the DPS CHL Unit. I have always told students to request the form, and they received a blue form with their information preprinted. Recently, one of my renewing students sho...
