Re: Are you handing out candy this year?

its been years since we answered the door. We sit out in the driveway for a while. What we've noticed is carload/vanloads of kids being dropped off with the vehicle waiting at the end of the block. Its surprising that kids will still come up to the door-- no lights on, even after 2200. Friends will ...

Re: "Zero-tolerance" policy on guns extends to private prope

I recall being told that the school is "responsible" for the student once they are on their way to or from a school. This discussion came about several years back when one of the kids was found "loitering" at a convenience store on the way to school. We were called by the school'...

Re: How accurate are reloads

IMO-- if one watches carefully while reloading (ie no TV, no kids, etc) a double load or a empty load is unlikely. I occasionally get a poorly seated or crushed primer. I catch that either when spot checking rounds or when loading a magazine. I can't recall having a squib round. Accuracy-- With a li...

Could one assume that the whole facility would fall under the 51% license/signage because one can carry their purchased beverage around the facility ?

Re: Gun Storage - Need Help

We had a pipe burst and flooded the house a few yrs back. I took all the guns to a local dealer for cleaning, as they may have gotten wet--covered under insurance ;-) . I left them there during the repair period (about 90 days)--safe and sound while under "repair". Shop owner said he could...

Re: Do you have a specific magazine for carry?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. My glock 19 gen 4 came with 3 factory mags. Getting all 15 rounds in each mag was a tight fit. I'm leaving them full for a few days to help break them in. I'll go to the range on Saturday or Sunday to break in my new gun and see how it and the mags works. I'm read...

Re: Frequent travel with a firearm

Tiny bit off topic-- but traveling into Canada is an ordeal ! My pasture neighbor had their RV confiscated for 2 days. It was searched it at the border and the officials found-- wait for it-- a small lockblade knife in the kitchen drawer-- I cant imagine if they found a firearm or even some loose am...

Re: Tire and Wheel for Skeet Launcher

I recall mounting a thrower to a tire. I used the spare from my car. The goal was I could shoot by myself. I thought surely it would hold. The force of the arm threw the full sized tire/rim around. I had to drive rods through the lug holes into the ground to hold it in place anyway. Kinda defeated t...

Re: Word use that drives you up the wall!

The phrase "no problem" when I say thank you to a waiter. Chick-fil-a instructs workers to say "my pleasure". I like that. I know there is too much apathy around here but I don't care... +1 on "No Problem". I cant stand it when someone tells me that-- waiter, cashier, ...
