Re: 51 Rule Question
I undertstand your point re: handog , but what about CHL in 1996? I believe this definition of "breaking the law" is subjective. If I clearly, legally, have a "Defense" at the time I commit an act, like carrying concealed on my person with CHL in 1996... am I "breaking the ...

Re: Why no one invadesSwitzerland
From Wikipedia: "The sale of ammunition – including Gw Pat.90 rounds for army-issue assault rifles – is subsidized by the Swiss government and made available at the many shooting ranges patronized by both private citizens and members of the militia. There is a regulatory requirement that ammuni...

Re: Gun Show Attendance & Conceal Carry
To me, prohibiting CC at a gun show, is like prohibiting nudity at a nudist convention. Hey, I'm a new CHL, so what do I know.

Nope. I'm over 60 and a vet. You get to pick one, not both. Although I wish we couldsjfcontrol wrote:You sure about that? I thought they could.martywj wrote:Be aware if your Father is over 60, he is also eligble for the 50% off discount. The discounts cannot be combined.

Number of Guns in Trunk?
I know this is probably a stupid question, but is there any law in TX covering how many guns I can transport in the trunk of my car to and from the range? I like to take 3 or 4 pistols and lots of loaded magazines (to avoid reloading too much) in my range bag. I never thought about it before, but no...

Re: Gun Show Carry
What if I want one of the armorers or gunsmiths at the show to check out my pistol. Do they cut the tie and then re-tie? Or what?

No problem Handog, I thought I missed a critical post, as I have been following this one closely. Thanks.

Re: Cuffed and Stuffed
I was taking care of some business at a nearby government office. There was no 30.06 sign so I went on in. Even though my hand gun was holstered IWB with a long shirt covering it was somehow identified. The next thing I knew there were eight handguns and a shotgun staring me in the face. One other ...

Re: Land of Fruits and Nuts - My Family trip to CA.
As it's been 7 or 8 years or so, I believe there are "Fruit Police" (not sure if they are State or Federal) on I-10 as you leave El Paso. I've had to stop there every time enroute to the DFW area. I grew up in NYC and have lived in the PRK, but I got to Texas as fast as I could

Re: Force vs. Deadly Force
...so why is FORCE even mentioned in a handgun statute? Here's where you missed it :) PC 9.31 is not a handgun statute. : Ah ha! Now I remember. Thanks for reminding me ;-) These are laws " Relating to the carrying of a concealed handgun in Texas." It's the DPS publication title that gets...

Re: Force vs. Deadly Force
Force itself is pretty vague. Deadly force is "a force when used could cause death." Simply tackling someone to stop them from hurting someone else is not deadly force, but pointing a weapon at that same person is. And that creates the confusion in my mind. It seems to me that any force t...

Force vs. Deadly Force
Forgive me, I'm new here, and I'm sure this has been asked before. A search of the archives did not answer my question. I was sure after my CHL class I was clear on this, but after more study to really be sure I understand the Texas Concealed handgun laws "completely" I am getting a bit co...
