Re: The Arms Room is open!

Poked my head into the Arms Room last week Thursday. Folks, if you are in the area, this is THE best commercial range in Houston right now. Friendly folks, superior staff, incredible facilities...It is as close as anything I've seen in recent memory to the Scottsdale Gun Club. Mr. James and Travis w...

Re: Survey: Potential events for 2010

Charles,

Will have to check the schedule to be sure but, I think the wife is out of town that weekend and I think the Comp-Tac Warrior support match falls on the weekend prior. If all the stars are aligned, I'm more than happy to help again this year.

Re: If you carry a "big" gun, how do you do it?

First, I'm a big guy (6'2', 320lbs). Second, when I carry larger pistols, it is usually in the winter months when I can get away with better concealment clothing. Alternately, if I'm not at work and can wear an untucked shirt, I can and will wear my 1911s or Glock 34/35 IWB in a Comp-Tac C-TAC or Mi...

Re: 121 foot rule

This is one of those guys you only see outside when Fry's has a sale on PC components or the stars of (insert favorit SciFi show here) have come to town to give autographs. Otherwise, he lives behind a keyboard which is why running 121 feet is a near fatal act. Yeah, I know...I ride a desk and keybo...

Sorry...Was in a hurry and couldn't the text to act right in that field initially. Anyway, sure seems like a bad deal anyway you shake it. I was just surprised no one had already posted it.

Surely you guys didn't miss this...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_police_search_girl_killed Did a search and couldn't find any mention of this anywhere on common boards. I'm curious to know how the facts play out but, it never looks good when the explanations are "an officer's gun went off" and they try to clarrify with &qu...

Re: 59 gun range

G. C. Montgomery, Muzzlebreak, sorry to hear about your negative experiences there. I have no ulterior motive whatsoever in saying that when I was there last Friday, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I dont know who the owner nor the managers are, but everyone that I spoke with was extremely...

Re: Top Gun Range, Houston

Give them time gentlemen...Right now they are friendly and giddy because they are trying to rebuild the business after a fire last year. They've been utterly disgraceful and dishonest to a number of their formerly loyal customers which is why places like Memorial Shooting Centers have a standing lin...

Re: spotted twice wearing tucked holster

Guys, I've carried a C-Tac since it was in the prototype stage of production. I carry that original prototype to this day. I've also got an early, Minotaur M-Tac. Only once has someone spotted those clips and it was someone who knew me and knew I carried a gun even though she wasn't a gun person her...

Re: 59 gun range

You are a little behind the times. Sportsman's finally reopened a few months ago and is once again one of the best indoor facilities in town. . WOW, I am way behind the times. I haven't been anywhere other than Carters and private land to shoot in over a year. I am very glad to hear Sportsman's is ...

Re: 59 gun range

I have never been to Sportsmans, I may drive up there tonight and see what goes on, I am alway's teaching the CHL and never get to shoot. Hummph. For never getting to shoot, you've done a bang-up job the times I've watched you. I know exactly what ElGato is talking about...Not being able to teach a...

Re: 59 gun range

Unless they have rebuild recently (I hope they have) Sportsman's outlet burned to the gound about 3 years ago, last time I drove by it wasn't open. Nothing wrong with 59 Shooting Range, as long as you keep a full mag for the walk back to your car :smilelol5: . Carters on Treaschwig has very nice fa...
