Re: San Antonio - visitor shoots, kills fake cop

If the "officer" is in plainclothes, ask for a department photo ID before exiting the vehicle. Real cops will gladly show you his ID. Don't take a badge as ID they are a dime a dozen at the local gun show or flea market. It's better to be safe than sorry or, wind up killing someone. :tiphat:

Re: Gun suggestions for a co-worker

An S&W J frame or a Taurus 85 ultra lite may be your coworkers best options. Both guns are straight forward in operation and the trigger pull of both can be tweaked easily by a competent gunsmith. :tiphat:

Re: Poll: AK-47 or AR-15 ?

I chose AR because there wasn't a box for the Garand or the M14/M1A. the AK feels like some of the 99¢ tools found on a bargain table in the local hardware store. Clunky, but will get the job done. When the chips are down, I'll take any one of those four rifles over a sling shot or sharp pointed sti...

Re: renewal fee

The snail mail address is:

Regulatory Services Division MSC 0245
Texas Department of Public Safety
PO Box 15888
Austin, TX 78761-5888

Be sure you identify what the check/MO is for. This may add several weeks to your turnaround time. :tiphat:

That is some accurate ammo. It's what Carlos Hathcock used when he was sniping with a Model 70 match rifle in Vietnam.

I wasn't surprised by Beaumont's ranking, I was surprised that Port Arthur didn't make the list.

Re: target load vs carry load-If Worse Comes to Worse

Until the 1980s "carry ammo" and "target ammo" was, for the most part all the same. A .45 ACP 230 grain full metal jacket round will do an amazing amount of damage. So will the 40 S&W and the 9mm Parabellum. 9mm FMJ has been used by various militaries since before WWI it has ...

Gotta give the BF kudos for not giving up the fight. :thumbs2: From what I saw he is a scrappy dude. As usual the cops show up after the fact. :totap: I hope they catch the perps. :mad5

If he's looking for Lee equipment Titan Reloading is the place to go. Great prices, great service, fast shipping. They are a Lee distributor and about 99% of their stock is Lee. They also have an extensive stock of parts. :thumbs2: Have him order it and ship it to you like JF suggested. :tiphat:

Re: Police Dept gun fails to fire... And that's a good thing

A couple of years ago a cop's wife took her CHL class from me. She brought her husband's G17 to qualify with. During a pre qual safety and lube check a lack of maintenance was discovered. If I have ever seen a dirtier gun it must have been an M 60 that had a few thousand rounds through it. I told he...

Re: Texas-Florida Reciprocity Question

As it stands right now you have no CHL unless you change your Texas Resident CHL to a Non-Resident CHL. That's the way I understand this issue.
