Re: 1911 gun work
I recommend Ed Vanden Berg. He has done work for me on three 1911s and two shotguns and it has all been excellent. He is on the list of American Pistolsmith Guild. There are others here that will vouch for him as well.

Re: Why are ammo manufacturers so bearish about investment?
I started shooting (and reloading) again after Obama was elected. I have seen times while Obama was in office where reloading supplies were plentiful and low in cost. One of the good deals was Remington small pistol primers at $23.00 per 1000 some time in his second term in office. Still shooting so...

Re: Why bother
I am with Andy on this. I plan to keep my license based on the data that Mr. Cotton has shared in the past. If I remember correctly (please correct me if I am wrong), police are 7 times more likely to commit a crime than a LTC holder. The general population is 20 + times more likely to commit a crim...

I am starting to believe that our country is being overthrown by the communist left (democrats) that are in control of our government. If our military is forced to take these shots and worst case events happen, out military will no longer be able to defend us. How long will this be allowed to go on?

Re: Discount Tire using the same tactics as Oil Change places
I have used Discount Tire for years and have no complaints. They occasionally try to push something I don't want and I just tell them no. Don't blame them, those extras are where they make a bigger percentage of their profit. Recently, I needed new tires for my Camry. Costco had the top of the line ...

Re: what is your preferred zero distance
I have ACOGs on my "self defense ARs" so I zero at 100 yards. I have taken a lot of classes with Paul Howe and he advocates for a 100 yard zero. He explains why and has good reasons to support the 100 yard zero. Hard to argue with someone that has been though the combat that he has seen. I...

My adult daughters got the double jab and one of them is very sick with the COVID now. One has to wonder what is going on.

Re: DC: Penetrating the Capital
I don't see any way to compare what really happened at the Capital on Jan 6 to the events of the past mentioned in that article. If I was a betting man, I would wager that the real troublemakers on Jan 6 were plants from the left to make Trump supporters look bad.

Congratulations on the good news! I am type 2 as well and have been for more than 10 years. It runs in my Mom's side of the family. In January, I had to have all of my teeth removed and implants installed. That dropped my A1C a good bit, actually too low according to my doctor. He said I need to bri...

Equin,
That knife is sold through the Combat Shooting and Tactics (CSAT) pro shop. CSAT has a web site and the pro shop is on that site. The knife is called the Pocket Skinner.

Re: Fixed Blade EDC
Another option to a fixed blade knife is The Hammer. This was developed by one of the instructors at CSAT. Coy showed us part of the training video he is putting together on how to use The Hammer. He was using the plastic training version but still had the black belt that he was working with tapping...

Re: Fixed Blade EDC
A while back, Andy put up a post about a knife class he went to and how they used paring knifes in that class. That had me on the lookout for a small fixed blade knife but I never bought anything until a few weeks ago. I was at a class at CSAT and saw this knife (they have someone on staff that make...
