Re: Handgun VS Knife

Not unusual at all. The only shot to instantly stop the BG is to hit the computer (head). Otherwise, if you hit some major pipes, bleed out/blood pressure drop can take up to two minutes. People in really good physical shape can take a hit in the heart and still be active for several minutes. I lear...

Re: Carry Insurance

The report is from May 2018, so it might be outdated. I'm surprised these two questions were not included because they are bigees: 1. What are your claim limits, if any? 2. Are civil penalties covered? Those sound like things an umbrella insurance policy would cover more than "lawyer insurance...

Re: What would YOU do?

If you went to the NRA Expo, there was a pretty good class called "Stay Safe, Security Secrets For Today's Dangerous World" (which is also the name of the instructor's book...which I'm currently reading). The instructor is an ex-FBI agent that's been in multiple gun fights around the world...

I also watch John daily. I attended most of his classes at the NRA expo in Fort Worth too.

Re: Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center

As far as I know, the KBH center is owned by the city of Dallas and managed by Spectra. According to our state attorney general's opinion in this sort of problem, anyone who leases the center can post 30.06/30.07 since nothing in the law prevents them from doing so. However, the signs would not have...

Re: CA: Perp takes handgun away from Deputy, she runs away

Agreed, he could have easily shot her. Interestingly, initially he used his left hand as a "leveraging arm" which is common in knife attacks.

Re: TX: Seguin man holsters gun discharging into his testicle

AIWB is the fastest draw and I know how to properly reholster. But, it still scares the heck out of me! Thus, I wimp out and carry OWB.

Re: Garland Road Rage Shooting

It's my understanding that there is a charge of murder. I bet it's a "no bill" by the grand jury. I think it's very reasonable (key word is "reasonable") that the shooter thought he was being shot at.

Re: 2019 Firearms Related Bills That Made it to Governor Abbott

The description of HB 302 is a bit misleading by mentioning "commercial". The bill refers to chapters 81 (condos), 82 (condos), 92 (residential), and 94 (manufactured homes). I don't see anything related to commercial property.

I see that John Correia is teaching some of the classes. I really enjoy watching his Active Self Protection (ASP) and ASP Extra Youtube vids. If you've not watched them, give it a try. I'll be at the Expo!

Re: P365 ms or S&W shield 2.0

I have a P365 (born this year) and a M&P Shield 45 PC. Both shoot very well, never had any problems with either one, and I like both of them. When I carry, it's hard not choosing the increased capacity of the P365, so I carry it more often. However, psychologically, I like the feel of the larger...

An umbrella policy only covers unintentional acts. A self defense shooting is an intentional act.

Re: Hypothetical - asked not to carry in public venue

My opinion:

The lessee MAY post 30.06/30.07. However, the AG's opinion is that the 30.06/30.07 signs ARE NOT enforceable. Keep in mind that the lessee most likely can ask you to leave for no reason at all. So, carry concealed under these circumstances.
