Re: Goldilocks Gun Recommendations
I am shopping for a new carry pistol. My current carry guns are a Glock 21 and a Shield 9mm. I love the Glock 21, have owned it 17 years, shoot well with it, and am partial to .45, but it's massive and impractical to carry except in a belt holster under a jacket or openly in a paddle holster. The S...

Re: Nobody but Corey Booker
Even leaving the Second Amendment aside, when does he imagine Congress authorized such an executive order? Or does he think it is just open season after Trump's bump stock ban? Congress doesn't issue/authorize executive orders. The president does. Yes, but he generally needs some Congressional auth...

Re: What is your favorite carry revolver
S&W Model 60-15 Pro Series, 3” barrel, in .357 Magnum. Excellent trigger and sights. Recoil with full-house Magnum loads is brutal, but it’s tolerable with the 125 gr Winchester PDX1 bonded JHPs I carry. I might switch to 110 grain Winchester white box JHPs, which I have found easy to shoot, or ...

I was there a few weeks ago. If there were 30.06 or 30.07 signs, I didn’t notice them.

Re: I am not going to buy a gun today!
I too am not buying a gun on Valentines. Maybe I bought a bunch of parts. And maybe they’ll magically be assembled into a gun-like object. But that is not buying a gun, I say.

Re: Book: "Negroes and the Gun: The Black Tradition of Arms"
A lot of people forget that the law against carrying in Texas is a Jim Criw law dating back to 1873 that was passed for the purpose of disarming blacks.

Re: Red Dot VS. Scope - choice for AR-15
My el Cheapo PSA rifle has “fixed” iron sights (regular gas block front sight, rail-mounted A2 style rear sight without carry handle) 1/3 co-witnessed through a Sig Romeo5 red dot. I was a die hard iron sight guy—I did BRM back when men were men, before the Army stopped teaching recruits how to shoo...

Re: Decisions decisions...
I reload a lot of the same calibers: .45 Auto, .30-06 for my Garand, .38 Special/.357 Magnum, and .45-70. A couple things I learned: I've become a believer in getting a separate die to crimp, and crimping and seating in separate steps. Especially with .45 Auto or any autoloading pistol cartridge, an...

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods
There is a Dick’s near my house, and it is the only substantial gun store within 10 miles. Even so, 8’ve cheated and shopped there only once since February. I needed some ammo and bought their Field and Stream brand .45 because it was on sale. Every 4th round of that Bosnian crap has a light primer ...

Re: Shooting at Car Thieves
Lots of mistakes in this story. But it ultimately comes down to the jury of our so called "peers" and how well the prosecutor can spin the race card, poor man card or plain "stealing isn't that bad" card. Also, I rememeber that when I originally took my CHL class, the instructor...

Re: Shooting at Car Thieves
How many understand the difference between theft at night (most don't know what legal night is) and "recoverable" property? Even LTC holders don't fully understand these laws. I think you are right. I sincerely doubt most people know what is meant by night, legally. And those who do, prob...

S&W S6hield Front Sight Removal
After a few frustrating trips to the range with my S&W M&P Shield 9mm, I realized that the front sight is badly misaligned, to the point where it's grouping 6+ inches to the left at 7 yards. After Googling it, I see that others have reported exactly the same issue. The manual states that the...

Re: .45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber
I carry .500 S&W Magnum, because .501 would be an NFA destructive device and require a tax stamp.
