TX Investigator:

You stated "if I am confident that I can make a head shot I would not hesitate to do so." That sure sounds like advocating head shots before COM. I am glad you don't teach that!!

Your sarcasm is misplaced and unwelcome.

TX Investigator, Heads are small targets, particularly considering that you really only have a small area on the head to hit to shut a BG down. That makes it hard target to hit in the right spot under pressure, even by skilled shooters. If I am in his position and have a COM shot, that's what I am g...

It sounds like the bullet hit him in the forehead which is the toughest part of the head. Not really a good place to shoot someone. So I don't think the real problem is the caliber as much as placement. You have to wonder why the victim was shooting for the head instead of COM. BTW, how cold is it i...

This guy has a very bad writing style. He just is all over the place. I like the airsoft idea but where do you train with it force on force. On his idea that revolver aren't worth anything, I would just say carrying a gun in and of itself is worth a lot. According to multiple studies, guns are used ...

The signs I have seen at Grapevine Mills are 30.06 compliant. And when I have looked I have found them at the direct entrances to the mall. You don't find them however at store entrances.

Thanks. I can see how it would be helpful for some although I don't travel to or through Minnesota, Ohio or Washington and just got my Texas CHL six months ago so I am not real concerned about overlap right now. Still helpful to understand the benefits.

I would be interested as well although would probably be an off and on participant given the Saturday activities of my kids.

What is the advantage of getting a Utah license if you already have a TX CHL? I know there is reciprocity with a couple more states, but is there any other advantage.

Shows that walls don't necessarily stop bullets very well either. You need to know it behind the wall before you point a gun at it.

I thought the law was that if you know a business is posted with a 30.06 sign, you are bound by it even if you didn't see it. At Grapevine Mills every direct entrance into the mall that I have been through is posted but the business entrances like Burlington Coat Factory are not. It seems me then th...

Until the last year, while I supported the right to carry, I had never thought much about the second amendment. However it seems to me that one of the most fundamental rights is the right to life, right up there with the right to liberty and the right to pursue happiness. If so, then the right to de...

If lawyer jokes were only limited to this forum!! I am an even more hated corporate lawyer so I don't have expertise in the kind of issues that arise on this kind of forum. Having said that the first case I ever won was a criminal case. However that was also 25 years ago and was the last criminal ca...

Just given the facts here, it would have been better for him to stay although I am not convinced he did anything illegal by leaving the scene. Of course if he was not a CHL or was an illegal alien or had some other inherent problem, he may have commited a crime that is not clear from the facts. Stil...

I recently bought a Marlin 336 at a gun show. However I had looked at a couple of pawn shops first. The pickings were kind of slim although I did see two at Roy's on Irving BLVd. They were kind of beat up on the outside but the barrels looked ok and the actions seemed to work fine. The guys there sa...

The court order against the ex-boyfriend really worked well didn't. Except for the second shot, this would be absolutely clear cut. I would be willing to bet that if he does get prosecuted, the jury finds him not guilty even in Minnesota.
