Re: Special Session -- 2013
I find it interesting that various legislators are even allowed to file bills that are not on the call. I don't know that the practice is permissible or an authorized expenditure of state funds in doing so. The legislature is supposed to be working on what the Governor transmitted when he called th...

Re: Just a Question?
On a related note, there are rumors brewing that Perry is about to add more issues to the call. Whether any of those issues relate to firearms remains to be seen. According to 'Quorum Report,' these are the issues to be added: "Legislation relating to est. a mandatory sentence of life with par...

Re: HB49 Filed
My biggest concern with this bill involves Pickett's committee where it was killed the first time. But, I'm not going to get my hopes up until the Governor adds gun bills to the special session. That's just one of the reasons this bill has no chance of passing during the special session. A freshman...

Re: HB49 Filed
So if this bill is passed and become law I have a few questions... 1. Where will I be able to carry that Im not allowed to now? 2. It says it takes either 2/3 vote and become effective immediately or it will go into effect Sept 1st. Does that mean that this bill will become law regardless if it get...

Just a Question?
Will Dewhurst be acting Governor while Perry is out of state next week? If so, could he add progun bills to the special session agenda? Such an act would take Perry off the hook and might be good for his possible run for governor.

Re: DPS Serial Number Check Strategy
That would put you in a difficult position as we do not have to call a supervisor and the law requires a CHL holder to surrender your weapon when instructed to do so on a traffic stop. Which law is that? If you would read this thread you would have seen it posted several times. GC §411.207. AUTHORI...

Re: El Lago Shooting
That is the main problem with the story, the lack of information.from what I have read the shooter ran back to his house to get his gun, then shot the man off his property. Once the trespasser (not going to say victim this time as the shooter could be the victim) left the property the home owner sh...

Why just Verizon? Are they offering a special "jihadi" plan? :-) SIA I suspect it's not just Verizon. Verizon resisted the order and the story came about because a court ruled against it. There's no mention of companies that simply complied. Since all electronic communication companies ex...

Re: Soon to be - Felony if You Annoy the Police in NY
TAM wrote "The commie states are on life-support. They just don't know it yet. They're like the chicken with it's head lopped off—lots of running around, but not much intelligent direction." We should have already closed the border to corporate heads/management types from the east coast/K...
