Re: Any ranges in Houston without one gun requirement

Bayou Rifles has a facility at Addicks, West of the city, for pistols and rimfire rifles only. It is on Eldrige just North of I-10. Bayou is a membership club, not a public range, if that matters. They shoot Bullseye and metallic silhouette (used to, anyway) but no action pistol. Link in my .sig Th...

Re: New LEO at the range.

I recently took my CHL class from a LEO. During the shooting test, there were some guys that ended up with a large 2-3" hole where almost all their shots went. The LEO commented afterward that being that accurate isn't all that important (assuming of course that you don't miss completely). I w...

Re: removing live primers

Appreciate the input. Guess I'll wait till the wife is out of the house and give it a try. Bob With the 650, all you have to do is strick the cases in station #2. Do NOT press forward to seat a primer, just pull back to load the powder and bell the case. Then as the case moves to station #3, place ...

Re: A Few Questions.

Did my initial class last weekend and had a few questions. 1. The officer who did our finger printing also signed the back of our passport photos. Was this wrong? Will it get kicked back? 2. Became a citizen in 2007. What and were do I put my (former) alien number on the application? And do I just ...

Yea, kinda like being in the Mob, (or a Home Owner's Association), once you're part of the Family, you're always part of the Family.

Re: I joined the 1911 club

Congrats! I love mine, it's eaten everything I've fed it so far. I usually will strip a new gun and thoroughly clean it before firing it, however, with the PT-1911, I ran a boresnake through it and took it shootin'. Ran 500 rounds of WWB through it with no failures. I do also own a Kimber, and would...

Re: Kimber?

I've had my Tactical Ultra II for many years now. It is my primary carry and I have the utmost faith in it's operation.

After the required break-in, Kimbers are extremely reliable.

Re: Tell me about Bayou Rifles

It is a great club with a couple of nice ranges. Always helpful folks around when you need it, never a hassle to take a break and post targets. The Juliff range is open to the membership utilizing the gate combination during daylight hours 7 days a week. The Addicks range is currently open only with...

Re: Videos of Shots at Bayou Rifles

I'm a little concerned that it appears you violated the range rules with the opening shot from that second video... You seem to be a little past the firing line there. I'll guess that no-one else was around to watch you do this, otherwise you'd no longer be a member. I am a member of Bayou Rifles as...

Re: Where In Houston To Buy IWB Holster?

I just got my plastic and now that I can carry legally, I'd like to go and look at holsters. Can anyone recommend a place in Houston where I can handle, and try on various holsters? I know that I can order anything on-line, but I'd really like to avoid buying something sight unseen and then not lik...
