Texsquatch wrote:Why mention that it's gun free?
The OP is probably against gun free zones as most people on this forum probably are. Mentioning that the possible murder took place in a gun free zone tends to show that gun free zones do not protect people.

Re: Close call with Glock

I also feel the Sig is the safest pistol out there. That is why I chose it. Is there a reason why? Just wondering there are lots of DA/SA with hammers, and it my platform of choice. Is there a reason that this design is safer than others... The one thing that does differentiate the M11-1A from simi...

Polar Pure

I recommend Polar Pure. This little bottle has iodine crystals in it and it purifies 2,000 quarts of water. You can find it on Amazon.

Re: Skype for Linux?

Ubuntu is not compatible with as many devices as Windows is, so it might be that your particular webcam won't work with Ubuntu but will work with Windows. This is not a big problem. You can easily find a webcam that will work with Ubuntu. This will probably be the only issue you might have as far as...

Re: Alien Gear Gun Belt

I have an AG belt. It is real heavy duty and will probably last a long time. It has some cosmetic blems. I concluded that is probably one of the reasons why the price might be lower than other companies. The belt will be hidden anyway and its getting scratched by their holster clips, so I decided co...

Re: Almost went to jail!!!

what gets me mad is that we have to follow the law as it is written, but businesses with improper signs do not. DPS said in our renewal class 2 years ago that they will not police the signs. maybe we should work on that next session; if the signs are not legal then we do not have to abide by the no...

Re: OK to Draw on a Gun Snatcher?

If the gun grabber was pointing the pistol at me or threatening to kill me, I would shoot him to protect my life. If he was fleeing with his back turned toward me and did not appear to be a threat, I'm not sure I would shoot him to retrieve my property. It seems that you might be spinning a roulette...

Re: New online CHL application & procedures

Hi everyone! Sure am glad I found this forum, lots of good info. I completed my class 2 weeks ago and submitted my CHL-100 and fingerprints about a week and a half ago. Today I read on the checklist to submit my DD-214 (somehow missed that) Do you think it will cause a problem that I submitted them...

Re: OK to Draw on a Gun Snatcher?

I did leave out the idea of retrieving stolen property, which is legal in Texas. I think it was made clear earlier in this thread that lethal force is probably justified to be used to retrieve the stolen pistol. The gun snatcher is armed at that point, and the CHLer knows that he is armed. There is ...

Re: OK to Draw on a Gun Snatcher?

I am just guessing, and I don't have any inside information on the subject, but I think gun grabs against LEOs are probably done by people the LEOs are detaining. The detainees are grabbing the guns to help them escape. It appears clear in this situation the officer's life is in danger and that the ...

Re: OK to Draw on a Gun Snatcher?

. . . if you are going to draw your gun, it better not be as a threat in any manner . . . I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading that it is legal to display your gun to a trespasser who is trespassing in broad daylight and order him to get off your property. I am pretty sure you cannot po...

Re: OK to Draw on a Gun Snatcher?

Yes, it is OK. A question id like to ask, what made you think it wasn't okay? . . . From what I have studied on my own (I could be wrong), the threat of force can be used to retrieve stolen property, but the threat of deadly force cannot initially be used to retrieve stolen property. Example, someo...
