Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

If I recall, leaving Viet Nam was a collective decision arrived at over an extended period of time. The recent decision to exit Syria may have involved tea leaves.

Listened to the short shot. Thanks Charles. Sounds like Moody needs to withdraw this terrible piece or more likely "we" need to bury it.

Pancreatic Cancer

Prayer works and is effective. I just heard from an old high school friend that her husband, John Latshaw, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has this week begun chemo treatment. Pancreatic cancer has a 12 month survival rate of 20% and a 5 year survival rate of 7%. He needs your prayers....

Re: Medications and CHL question

I've seen anxiety in my life and changed jobs to cope. Have no idea if that is an option for you, given family needs, location, salary requirements, etc. Medicating would be well down on the list of options. Exercise, join a league of some sort, even consider something like AA where you can talk out...

Re: Border Patrol agent killed, partner injured in Texas

Correct me if I'm mistaken 'cause it's been awhile. The agents were found under a bridge on I10. The survivor did not remember what happened. The deceased had a massive head injury. The last I heard, the investigation had no definitive conclusions but the deceased may have fallen from the bridge. Te...

Re: Well... there goes Constitutional Carry

You're probably right 99% of the time. If there is an incident, the bad guy is wounded or a bystander is injured, and you have had a beer, the BA is .01 or so, there is still room for someone to file a suit claiming you were impaired. You don't want to give them luxury. This all goes back to the fir...

Re: Well... there goes Constitutional Carry

We all have rights. Gun ownership is an institution as is the consumption of alcohol, but in my experience, gun powder and alcohol do not mix, and if an individual makes the CHOICE to consume simultaneously with carrying, then something needs to give. Remember, we have rights, but stupid behavior t...

Re: Star Telegram poll on Constitutional Carry - go vote

A Texas law would not need to abolish the ltc to allow for unlicensed carry, right? Would leave it underutilized for non-interstate activity.

Re: Had a good LEO experience yesterday

Officers in Mequite and Garland have always been nothing but positive with regard to concealed. I have yet to open carry or see anyone else open carry, but speaking to the leo's I know personally, they are all good with it.

Re: Are you voting in the 2018 Midterms?

Voted this morning. Line wasn't bad but getting longer when I left. Used my LTC for ID and got a resounding grumble. Data person said she had to type everything into the computer. The DL doesn't require this. I have my doubts.

Re: In other PC statue news: Long Beach State removes Prospector Pete.

Nothing unusual for California. The California State University, Los Angeles, mascot was the Diablos. Student center was named the Trident (the devil's pitchfork). One day I got a phone call asking for a donation for the Golden Eagles. Had no idea who she was talking about, and after explaining it t...
