Re: Fellow Glock Carriers
The first Glock I ever bought (back in about 1994) Came with the Sport/Combat Holster (I am assuming you are talking about the belt slide one) and I used it mostly out in the country on the deer lease/farm. Carried the Glock 17 close to the body and still easy to get to. Not a bad holster at all. Ju...

Re: Army Looks For New Combat Rifle
The 64,000 dollar question is what can the replacement do better than the one that is in service? From what I have read, the various XM8s, SCARs, and others aren't that much better in terms of reliability and accuracy to spending millions of dollars replacing the M16s/M4s that are in service. Most o...

Re: 1911s! A topic everyone likes!
As far as 1911s being a topic everyone likes, I personally do not care for them because IME they have more malfunctions and issues than more modern handguns. A gun you trust your life to has to run. Period.
You can buy two Glocks for 1000 bucks.

Re: Looking for a better gun oil
I am experimenting with 0W-30 Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil. 6.24 a quart compared to most gun oils that cost around 6.24 for four ounces.

Re: Good red dot for a Rem 870 Express?
For just messing around/shooting rattlesnakes - Vortex or Primary Arms
If your life or your love one's lives depend on it - Aimpoint or EOTech
Also make sure it is securely mounted to shotgun or the recoil of repeated buckshot and slugs will cause it to leave prematurely :).

Re: Winchester Ranger 127gr. +P+ JHP
IMO it is the best self defense ammo available for the 9mm, with some lots approaching .357 Sig ballistics (127 grain bullet going over 1300 fps)
Good stuff.

Re: Yildiz Shotguns
Forum member Greybeard has a Yildiz 20 gauge, and it is a dream to shoot. 3 inch magnum number two buckshot fired at 50 feet on a B-27 hit exactly at point of aim (X-Ring), and would also stack slugs on top of each other at that distance.
A nice shotgun.

Good for you...I converted to Glocks back in 2000 when I couldn't keep my 1911s running right.

Worked in Corrections for 10 years, LEO for 11. 1 out of every 20 people in Texas is either in prison or on some form of court mandated supervision (probation, parole, etc). That is reason enough for every law abiding citizen in Texas to have a CHL. I have seen too many ex-offenders "out in the...
