Re: BATFE: Bump-Stock-Type Devices: Notice of proposed rulemaking

Going to be interesting to see how this turns out. I wonder if anyone has filed a lawsuit challenging this yet? Very interested to learn how many get turned in. Gun Owners of America and Firearms Policy Coalition have so far. I expect a few more. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2018/12/daniel-zim...

Re: Strauss 2.0?

His voting history looks very pro-2a (https://votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/10099/dennis-bonnen/37/guns) - specifically was a cosponsor on HB910 - Open Carry, and cosponsored previous bills for campus carry and school marshal programs. He's endorsed by and rated 93% by the TSRA and the NRA. The ...

A parent should never have to outlive their children. I’m so sorry for their loss.

Re: Sketch borders for Dremel with pencil?

Dremel has a really cool little tool that you could use to do etching and such....I've looked at it a couple of times, it's not a lot, but I just haven't been able to splurge for it quite yet. I have a dremel 200 with a flex shaft, and I got the etching bit set which has multiple sizes of engraving...

Re: Sketch borders for Dremel with pencil?

I’ve used a pencil many times tracing boarders for stippling polymer “tools”. Works well. I also advise that you get some painters tape and tape the boarders if you can. The straight edges of the tape will help you make sure that you stay in the area your trying to work. It can also save you from m...

That all depends on the hands of the user -- I hope mine can be trained to be steady enough! Lots of practice is due.

Sketch borders for Dremel with pencil?

If one were to want to customize their polymer handgun, is it safe to use a standard #2 pencil to draw out borders to be etched with a dremel? I didn't think that pencil could cause problems with the frame or internals, especially when cleaning before reassembly, but I thought I should ask around be...

Re: HB 38 - end of 80% builds in TX

Those of us with 80% builds can always engrave them with the required information. Nobody would have any knowledge of the firearm and we would then be able to sell them if we decide we no longer have a need for that firearm. I still hav 5 that are not built out. I only have 1 that is not 80%. I can...

Not only no carve out for pre existing, this creates a defacto registry in TX: Sec. 411.225. MARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUFACTURING OR ASSEMBLING FIREARMS. A person who manufactures or assembles a firearm to which this subchapter applies shall: (1) before manufacturing or assembling the firearm, app...

Re: Interesting bill regarding guns made in Texas

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. What if someone in Texas uses the new plastic printers to make their own unregistered gun? People are making “unregistered” guns in Texas every single day in the form of 80% lowers/frames. On top of that, there is no registry in Texas anyway. The only use f...
