Re: Just Lost My Insurance

I don't think the intent is to make our lives “better” at all. I believe the intent of the power hungry people is more power over other people. How better to gain power over people than by having control of their health care. There are a whole bunch of bliss ninnies who believe the poor, poor, piti...

My 1911 always has one in the pipe.

Day to day life never allows you to know if, when, or where a threat will appear. Every second counts, period.

Re: One in the pipe - do you do it?

I returned from Afghanistan last August. Depending on the threat level we would carry either empty or a magazine inserted. Some would chamber a round but this was not the way the guidelines dictated. Some were willing to take the chance that if they had a ND that it was on them to face the conseque...

Re: Just Lost My Insurance

A Dr.'s take on Obummercare, sorry the "AFFORDABLE" healthcare act. Here is how easy it could have been.....if every person who voted for President Obama in 2008 would have chipped in just $100, they could have created the 3rd largest health insurance company in the nation. They could cove...

No truer words have ever been spoken.

As for the Gift shop being posted, I can kinda understand the necessity of such an action for the reasons outlined above. I find it hard to blame the family for doing so if they in fact do know of the sign.

I'm gonna look for Penzeys spices. :thumbs2: If I remember correctly from our time living in Dallas there is a Penzey's Spice store at Preston, south of 635. I don't know if the store is still there or not though. We actually first discovered Penzeys on a trip in St. Louis and have been buying from...

Re: Feeling a hint of Autumn in the air...

Pumpkin can also be used to make lasagna and to stuff raviolis. One of the greatest things I've ever eaten was pumpkin/mushroom stuffed raviolis at a hole in the wall restaurant in ATL. I can still taste it as I type this. I was in Round Rock last night and had dinner at the Main Street Grill. I ha...

Re: armed robbery spree - austin

I found some pretty amusing quotes in the Austin comments... two favorite were: "Are you reading this bad guys? This is Texas. Your luck will run out sooner or later." and "Hopefully they'll be able to provide us with the 4th grade pictures of these thugs sitting atop ponies, eating s...

Re: Donations at Walmart

Seemed very sketchy to me, but what got me was the guy laying the American flags he had just been holding on the ground to tie his shoe!! Yeah, you WILL NOT catch many Veterans (sure there are a few) placing an American Flag on the ground, I take that stuff seriously. Hundreds of thousands ...
