Re: Utah instructor in Texas
I took the Utah CFP Instructor course last Saturday so I should be able to teach in about 3 or 4 weeks. They said they will send my instructor credentials in about 2 weeks. Then, I have to order an Instructor's stamp that will have my Instructor Number and expiration date on it and that should take...

Re: Why you need more than one weapon
The shotgun is a good idea. You can have fun with it, too. You can find used shotguns for not much more than $100, and beat-up .38 Special revolvers for less than $200 (police surplus). Congratulations on getting your daughter interested. - Jim Not to hijack too much - but where do you find sub $20...

Re: Are you able to carry on your job site and do you?
Big company in San Antonio, all weapons and firearms prohibited via policy on all property 'including concealed handgun license holders'. No 30.06 legal text - so, from my interpretation, no criminal trespass could be successfully prosecuted, but enough to prevent me. Everywhere else not 30.06 poste...

Re: Texas3006.com Version 1.3.0 is live!
Thanks for the update and the work on the site! One more feature I think would be neat would be the ability to enter a zip code + maybe a distance from the zip code, and have all the locations plotted on a google map (similar to going to maps.google.com and putting in "auto repair san antonio t...

Re: HOW HIGH MUST THE BODY-COUNT GO?
I've been listening to the radio more the last few days, trying to see what 'public reaction' is to the latest round of shootings in the victim disarmament zones - Rush Limbaugh advocated concealed carry on Friday, today a SATX radio station had about an hour + of discussion (Ben Fergerson or someon...

Re: ALERT: AMC Theaters have posted 30.06
I normally visit Santikos theaters in SAT. Not posted. The only posted sign I've seen inside is the TABC required standard sign, "The unlicensed possession of ..." because the Starbucks inside sells alcoholic beverages. I may stop by and check out the AMC on I10 and see if it is posted to...

Re: Changes to Texas3006.com
Russell, sorry to be late joining this conversation. What about for the next round you do a "mash-up" with Google Maps? I don't know the details, but there are many applications built on the api that google supplies for just this purpose. As long as you have "some" address info ...

Is it on the level of a municipal ordinance or more like a speeding ticket? Either way, the uncertainty is another great reason for having a backup license in a State with reciprocity. Eligibility requirements for many States only consider real laws passed by a legislative body, not Constitutionall...

Was sent this by a friend last week - yet another reason schools are not 'safe' - though I never heard of this happening while I was there. Texas A&M University - College Station Timely Warning - Campus Crime Alert Timely warnings to the campus community comply with the federal Jeanne Clery Disc...
