Re: Family Heirloom Firearms
My Grandpa gave my Dad his 1903/1904 .38 S&W 6" Special from when he was a part time deputy. My Dad recently gave it to me to give to my youngest grandson - 5th generation - with the caveat that it has to stay with the family. I'm going to clean it up and put it in a display box with inform...

Re: Some things I've been thinking about while carrying.
Joey, Welcome to the forum! I'll echo that this is the best place to get good information... sometimes with tongue in cheek and fun. We can forget that sarcasm and humor does not come across online as it does in person. You'll also find we do get upset with instructors who are not doing a good job o...

Re: Convince me that constitutional carry is a good thing
I hear you, but the most likely outcome of that is a less support for us if they win re-election in the primary and a democrat if they don't.TXBO wrote:It's time to stop protecting those who won't support our wishes.

Re: Convince me that constitutional carry is a good thing
It's the fact that the legislature has sold you on their opinion and you can't sell them on ours. So what do we do? Get rid of the pro gun/2A legislators and hope their replacements do vote that way? Like Charles I wish unlicensed carry/constitutional carry was accepted. But reality is what it is a...

Re: Ft. Worth Zoo 30.06 Ruling Letter
Took me a few minutes to find but below is the last paragraph of the relevant OAG's Opinion KP-0108 located here: https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/opinions/opinions/51paxton/op/2016/kp0108.pdf . This was referenced in the letter. A court would likely conclude that a license holder who carries a hand...

Re: Ft. Worth Zoo 30.06 Ruling Letter
I'm not a lawyer, but if I understand, this only means that the State cannot fine the city for the improper posting. The land is owned by the City of Fort Worth but they are not responsible for posting the signs.
But I have no desire to spend money at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Re: Glock or Sig
I had my Sig P220 compact before my Glock 19. I loved the Sig but wanted higher capacity and I was surprised how much I loved the Glock as I bought into the anti Glock rhetoric. For me Glock and then my Sig as a close second.

Re: This is why Tasering an armed suspect doesn't work.
I don't think a taser should be considered at all since the suspect was armed. The main reason is my understanding is that one of the problems with a taser is that it is only effective below impact - that is if they hit him too low his arms are not effectively disabled. I may be mistaken but If true...

Re: Question about "trespassing" and 30.06
I like the signs and understand that they were added for our benefit. I wish they had to be at every entrance like 30.07 and bigger. :biggrinjester: I am also glad the penalty for 30.06 was reduced to a Class C misdemeanor but I would like to see the law changed so that it does not become a penalty ...
