Re: Defining moments - what made you decide to carry?
For clarity, the non-combatant status does not mean that chaplains and medical personnel cannot carry weapons. All of our doctors and corpsmen carried rifles and most pistols as well during our deployment. The Geneva Conventions allow for self defense. The unarmed chaplain is U.S. Military policy. I...

Shootsir,
Yes that is the U.S. Military policy. I agree with you on this, but that decision is way above my payrgrade. The Marines always took good care of me.

Re: Defining moments - what made you decide to carry?
My final decision came after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq. Over many years I had been in situations where I should have been carrying. The worst of these was when my wife and I were kidnapped by two thugs who took as back to the retail store where I worked so they could rob it. This was bef...

Re: Walther P22 anyone?
I have had a P22 for a few years. It is a great pistol. I feed it a steady diet of CCI Minimags and it never skips a beat. Before I got my Bersa, I carried it with CCI Veliocitors when I needed a smaller carry than my Sig Pro. While not ideal, I had no doubt as to the reliability of the pistol. Oh y...

Re: New Beretta PX4 40 cal today from the Reliant Show
Nice looking pistol. I would agree that the .40 will wear you down a little quicker. I have a Sig Pro in .40 and a USP in 9mm. The Sig is just a bit more robust. Not to be a jerk, but your picture is of a pistol that is cocked, off safe and with a magazine in place. That is the condition it should b...

Re: America's gun culture - fading slowly?
Yes a good rebuttal indeed. For those of us in the vast conspiratorial, deviant gun culture, it is our responsibility to raise up new reprobates. My 15 year old son has been shooting with me since he was 5 or 6. Started with the BB gun, graduated to a .22 single shot, .410 and then a 20 gauge. All o...

Emmett,
Are you on active duty or in the reserves? In Texas your fees are waived and your military quals can be used.
I just got my chl and all it cost me was the class (I received a reduced rate on that as well for being active military.

Re: Church carry?
Don't get me wrong. My psychosis is very small and I have carried during weekday services. Access is the larger issue. Besides that I have a few in the pews that are ready to take care of any threat. Not many people know that I have a license and no one knows when I carry, except for a retired LEO (...

Re: Church carry?
I am one of those pastors who carries at church. I do not carry during Sunday morning worship, but will most any other time. Realistically, the vestments I wear would render any concealed weapon inaccessible and I do have some psychosis about packing while leading Sunday worship. The church is in a ...

Re: Gun Safety Rules
I have read posts on this site and others that speak of "Accidental Discharges". There is no such animal. Dropped gun=negligence, failing to clear before dry firing=negligence and so on. I did a tour in Iraq with a Marine MP batallion. With our augments we had over 1500 Marines and Sailors...
