Re: CA: No place but California

https://www.dailynews.com/2018/07/19/san-franciscos-mayor-seems-reluctant-to-crack-down-on-people-using-the-city-as-an-outdoor-toilet/ After the report aired, NBC caught up with newly elected San Francisco mayor, London Breed, and asked her what she plans on doing to combat this emerging public health crisis. Breed told the Peacock Network that she is working with homeless advocacy organizations that receive funding from the city to better educate the homeless to stop trashing the city. “I work hard to make sure your programs are funded for the purposes of trying to get these individuals help, and what I am asking you to do is work with your clients and ask them to at least have respect for the community — at least, clean up after themselves and show respect to one another and people in the neighborhood,” Breed told KNTV. So... the mayor is hoping to combat the homeless problem with hopes and dreams? I got some magic pixie dust to sell her if she's inclined to buy some. I hear it works wonders...

Re: CA: No place but California

http://insider.foxnews.com/2018/07/19/asher-caffe-and-lounge-california-protested-being-supportive-donald-trump Asher Shalom, the owner of Asher Caffé & Lounge, said on "Fox & Friends" Thursday that leftists in his community of Boyle Heights have taken exception to his support for Trump's immigration policies. Shalom told Brian Kilmeade that as a legal immigrant who came to America 30 years ago, he takes issue with those coming to the country illegally. He said that the majority of his 70 employees are immigrants. The group also said that Shalom's business supported gentrification of the community, posting "This Gentry business is trying to creep in without folks noticing that their owner is an anti-immigrant Trump loving gentryfier!" An immigrant himself whose staff consists of a majority of immigrants....is anti-immigrant? :banghead: I had to read that article a few times. My head kept on going, "Logical exception. Please try again." I finally realized that it's leftist derp logic, so I finally accepted it. Flightmare, you mind moving over? I need that space to bang my head as well. :banghead...

Re: CA: No place but California

San Francisco proves communism works...to destroy/ruin/and bring down everything good. Bye Bye san francisco...it was at one time good to know you. Wait a minute. This doesn't add up. San Francisco was good at one point? Also, on the point of communism: https://www.forbes.com/sites/patrickgleason/2018/07/06/millionaires-flee-california-after-tax-hike/. This shows that raising taxes socialist style isn't an effective strategy at bringing in funding. There's a sweet spot of taxation where it's high enough that money will roll in but not too high that people will stop paying somehow. Commiefornia has passed the sweet spot. Economic policies such as this prop 30 nonsense and prop 8 nonsense from the 80s is one of the main reason why I left Kalifornistan. As it stood there, I was stuck in the "middle class" (whatever that means) no matter what I did. It was impossible for me to save nor was it possible for me to live a decent lifestyle. Basically, irregardless of how hard I worked or how little effort I put into it; I'd be in the same cruddy position. It just isn't fair that I'd work twice as hard and do twice as much work with twice as much skill required only to receive a couple hundred more a month in return. That only pays for the rent hike I got that year too. So really? What is the point of trying at all? I was lucky enough to get a small windfall to allow me to escape that hellhole and move to the land of the free, where I can actually live the American dream instead of dreaming about living in America. :patriot: :txflag...

Re: CA: No place but California

New tax on residential water use. Each residence is limited to 55 gallons per day before the tax begins. The utility is taxed not the individual residence, so your at the mercy of your rich neighbor. Please don’t come here with your Kalifornia views. link in case anyone's interested: http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/06/08/new-california-water-law-restrictions-shower-laundry/ To be fair, though, 50 gallons per person per day is very reasonable and easily doable if you're a midget who doesn't shower or brush regularly and always uses paper plates and utensils when eating. Read it again - not per person per day, per residence (aka water meter). It makes as much sense as school taxes being on residences rather than per student. :evil2: I reread it. In 2022, the new indoor water standard will be 55 gallons per person, per day. by 2030, it will fall to 50 gallons. Regardless of semantics, I am soooooo glad I escaped from Kalifornistan and moved to America...

Lets not forget https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Diseased-Streets-472430013.html The NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit surveyed 153 blocks of downtown San Francisco in search of trash, needles, and feces. The investigation revealed trash littered across every block. The survey also found 41 blocks dotted with needles and 96 blocks sullied with piles of feces....

Re: CA: No place but California

Welcome to what many lawyers call the "Touchy Feely State." They are unique with a notion of comparative responsibility, where partial blame can be assigned to multiple parties. This leads to a lot of crap lawsuits. I'm so glad I escaped that gestapo. I personally know a victim of such a lawsuit. A drunk high school student stumbled and jaywalked across the street of a poorly lit highway in the middle of the night, then was struck by a vehicle. Police and insurance adjusters both saw her as at fault. But what happens? Her family sues the driver of said vehicle for $1.2M in damages. Just wow. Fortunately for the driver, the judge pretty much threw the case out...
