Bullet Puller Frustration
I _finally_ got my first round loaded correctly (ok, haven't fired it yet). I have a Lee Classic Turret with Lee Carbide dies. I'm loading .40 S&W with 4.7gr of TiteGroup (yes, I know, not really the best "starter powder") and 155gr FMJ Rainier bullets. The first thing I noticed is tha...

Run the scumbag through basic training, send him to Afghanistan...tell him he can't come back until he's earned all the medals he's worn or he's dead.
Problem solved.

Re: Just got a Gen 4 Glock 22
The RTF grip is a little too abrasive for me personally. I have tried to warm up to it several times already, but I keep thinking I like my 3rd gen better. It would be great for use it competition or on duty with gloves though. Are you speaking about the "RTF2" grip? The original RTF grip...

You could have shortened the entire story to this:
"Duncanville Police Officer"
Andybody that is in or near Duncanville would just nod their head in unity, knowing what you went through.
I mean, those guys make Barney Fife look like Albert Einstein

Re: "I, Sniper", a Bob Lee Swagger Novel
Thanks for the review. ...He talks about the movie in the interview, but isn't asked--or comments on--Wahlberg and how the actor seems to be completely contradictory to the values Hunter tries to put into his books. Guys like Wahlberg make you respect even more the Hollywood types--like Charlton He...

Austin Gun Show will have new location in Feb
Just saw this on the news, "Now the event scheduled for February 20-21 will be held at a building that used to be a Target store off Interstate 35 in Southeast Austin." Here's the link http://www.kvue.com/news/local/Gun-show-relocates-82939552.html . Not much details, I'm sure others will ...

Re: Red's North in Austin/Pflugerville?
I like Red's North more than Red's South. The shooting area has more "elbow room". For an indoor yard range, ESPECIALLY with a 100 yard rifle range, it's a damn good deal. I don't go there often, but I'm glad it's there. The range people are friendly and professional, and I've noticed (at ...

"I, Sniper", a Bob Lee Swagger Novel
By page 2, Jane Fonda takes a sniper bullet to the chest. Ok, not really Jane Fonda, but one "Joan Flanders", the pseudonym Jane Fonda in Stephen Hunter's latest Bob Lee Swagger novel, "I, Sniper". Thus begins a fun journey into the world of Bob Lee Swagger, and a high-action nov...

Re: Min power spotter scope to see from 1000 yds?
Thanks for the offer...I shoot my own .50, but it uses black powder and is fired with a flintlock. A far more "interesting" hobby...although I'll never be accurate beyond 150-200yds with it

Re: .223 is altered to fire .50 cal ammo?
They're likely referring to an AR lower that's macthed with a new upper that shoots .50 (Beowulf), or .458 SOCOM, or any other "thumper" caliber.

You can find them on gunbroker.com in the $1500-$1800 range. I'll leave the "Why would you want one of those things?" for a separate thread

Re: Min power spotter scope to see from 1000 yds?
If you have some flexibility on the range, consider a remote camera (FAR less than a very high powered scope, and more flexible). Here's an example

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
mine's horribly lame...my blog (and gamertag) is letskilldave. I've had it for many years and use it for several logins (like thehighroad.us), somebody once asked me if I was paranoid that people wanted to kill me, so I decided to use the shorter "lkd". That and it makes my typing requirem...
