Eagle Peak Shooting Range in Cedar Park

#1

Post by tronny »

Does anybody come to the Cedar Park range, "Eagle Peak Shooting Range" off of Nameless road? (a few miles off of 183)

If so, PM me, we could meet up sometime possibly.

Its a decent place, apparently they had a big face lift since I've been there last, adding shotgun areas with clay throwers (dont know what the proper name is) also has a pistol range, 100, 200, and 300 yard sections if I remember correct.

Its a mere $10 per day, any amount of guns any amount of time (limit when they open and close, of course)

I've actaully been wanting to try out that range. From the web site http://eaglepeakshootingrange.com/epsr.htm looks like a nice place.

A coworker mentioned it to me and we just haven't had time to go yet.

I've never been there, but I heard that for handguns, you must use hollow points. There's no such restriction on rifles, though. Anyone else know for sure?

You must use hollow point or soft point for rifles. I made that mistake after I bought my first mil surp rifle and some fmj ammo at a gun show and tried it out there.

I dont think it matters what kind with hand guns.

I've been to the range serveral time, and enjoy my time there. Don't know when I'll make another trip, but I'll ping you if I do.
