Wayne LaPierre announces resignation as NRA chief
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/wayne- ... -nra-chief
"With pride in all that we have accomplished, I am announcing my resignation from the NRA," LaPierre said in the NRA's press release, which was exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital. "I’ve been a card-carrying member of this organization for most of my adult life, and I will never stop supporting the NRA and its fight to defend Second Amendment freedom. My passion for our cause burns as deeply as ever."

NRA President Charles Cotton said during the board meeting Friday in Irving, Texas, that he accepted LaPierre’s resignation. LaPierre, 74, cited health reasons as motivation behind the departure.

The resignation will take effect Jan. 31. Andrew Arulanandam, the NRA’s executive and head of general operations, will serve as interim CEO and executive vice president of the NRA.

Great news. Now let’s get someone in there that represents the members and comes across well to non-gun people.

Wayne is 74 years old, so its not surprising that he would start to think about retiring.

The only NRA leader the non-gun people will accept is someone who will cave.
I'll pass.

Who cares what they think? In fact, I would take that as an opposite indicator.

Maybe Mr Cotton has a chance. I think he would be an excellent choice.

Tell that to Joe Biden. Please.

The Webverse seems fairly quiet about Andrew Arulanandam. In a statement about the appointment, La Pierre said that his longtime spokesman "knows every facet of this organization and has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with me in every arena imaginable. Andrew knows how to help the NRA win – he’s been one of the key authors of our playbook for decades."

Not much bio information on him, though. He evidently joined the NRA in 2000, and has also worked with the NRA-ILA. Prior to, he was the manager of government relations at the Idaho Housing and Finance Association, and did a stint as executive director of the Idaho Republican Party. Before that he was finance director for Idaho governor Phil Batt's gubernatorial campaign and continued to serve his administration as a senior policy advisor. Right out of Boise State University (1987-1992), he was a field representative for the Dirk Kempthorne for Senate campaign (1992-1993) which Kempthorne won. It looks like Arulanandam's high school days were at St. George's Institution, Taiping, Perak, Malaysia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Georg ... n,_Taiping

Arulanandam sat for a deposition back in 2019 in the Ackerman McQueen mess. That was made public in July 2021 and NRA Watch has it posted if anyone is interested: https://nrawatch.org/filing/deposition- ... ulanandam/

I care that the fence sitters aren’t turned off by the arrogance of the organizations leadership. Do I care what the anipti-gunners think? No. But then again there’s no helping them.

NRA Operations Director Joshua Powell pleads guilty to fraud... agrees to testify against Wayne.

Letecia Jones may be on the verge of saving the NRA. The irony.

It's good that he's gone. WLP basically wore out his welcome and was a liability to the NRA. No matter what he said or did, he was little more than a cartoon caricature to the public, with utterly zero credibility. The "elephant hunt" video on YouTube didn't help, either. That was so ridiculous it was hard to believe. Good Lord, has this guy even HELD a gun before?

Time to pass the torch. Question is, to who?

Under the bylaws, the head of General Operations becomes acting Executive Vice President. One month ago, Joe DeBergalis was head of General Operations, when he was suddenly replaced by Andrew Arulanandam, a PR person with no experience in General Operations or in management. Rumor had it that DeBergalis had no use at all for the Brewer Law Firm, while Andrew worked with Brewer’s PR branch.

Why does it always seems that political people who have never held a real job wind up in these positions.

(D) or (R), there are leeches in our society and they parasite their way to the top. Thats my opinion of anyone whos never had a real job until I am proved otherwise.
