Born in Queens, NY.

"last know to reside at" and they jump on Texas. The media couldn't wait to find out the whole story.

Reported shot from fourth floor balcony onto cafeteria courtyard below. Used an Ar15, pistol and shotgun.
The rifle would explain the high number of casualties vs wounded. Three people are reported wounded.

I am wondering if he will be another Hassan type guy... .that is bad. I am also curious if he took his own life, or as the media said died in a firefight with the leos. Good job putting him down if they did.

“We have no known motive at this stage,” said District of Columbia mayor Vincent Gray.

Is that so? Based on the rumors and speculation you guys have spread already, it seems more likely you know his motive and you're suppressing it for political reasons.

That has to be some kind of record. The bodies aren’ even cold and she has her face in the news trying to capitalize on the carnage.

I walked by the TV about 10 minutes ago and the banner at the bottom of the screen said he had an “AR15 Glock”??????? :banghead: :banghead: Journalists should have to be certified as having a basic knowledge of a subject before being allowed to write about it.

Another member of this forum once posted a great idea. That politicians should have to pass a subject matter test before being allowed to vote on that subject. :thumbs2: Just looking at pictures doesn't qualify someone to make a law.

The latest information I've seen said he may have had a beef with the Navy over pay. He entered with a shotgun and took the 9mm pistol and the AR-15 from people he shot. There were a number of armed people in the building. It's surprising someone didn't take him out before the police got there.

Seems he had some previous encounters with the law.

According to Navy officials, Alexis served as a reservist from May 2007 until his January 2011 discharge. Alexis was assigned to a logistics support unit based in Fort Worth and achieved a final rank of Aviation Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class.

Alexis was arrested for disorderly conduct in August 2008 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He was released from custody after posting $364 bond (and posing for a booking photo). The details and disposition of the misdemeanor case could not be obtained.
also
Alexis, who had a Washington State concealed pistol license, was charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and property damage. The disposition of those counts remains unclear.

Disposition of counts: What I heard today was he was arrested, but never prosecuted.
How you put a bullet through your neighbor's floor and don't get prosecuted is beyond me...

Where did you get the info on the weapons? The FBI spox just now said they would not comment on the weapons used, and again when asked by a reporter if he might have taken weapons from his victims. The band wagon has already started, and the DC House Rep just said she wanted to know how the BG got a "high powered weapon" into a secure facility, and there were more weapons than people in the U.S.

"He was arrested in 2004 in Seattle for shooting out the tires of a construction worker's car in an incident he later described as "an anger-fueled blackout."

His upstairs neighbor in Fort Worth was afraid of him. They had words and then he shot a bullet up through her floor. He said it was a gun cleaning accident. Gee, I have always removed all the bullets from my gun, before I start to clean it. Also I don't remember pointing it up, ever. Never remember pulling the trigger as part of the cleaning process either. I must be doing something wrong.

At least his CHL was not from Texas.

Oh, this is a double gun free zone. Military Base completely inside the most gun free city in America.

” At least 13 people died Monday and 14 were injured in a mass shooting inside a heavily secured building at the Washington, D.C., Navy Yard, in one of the worst shootings ever at a U.S. military facility, and one of the deadliest single events ever in the nation’s capital.

The gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, Texas, is among the dead. U.S. Navy officials reported none of the casualties were individuals in the military.

When it was over, Alexis, a former Navy reservist from Ft. Worth, Texas, who recently began work as a civilian contractor, lay dead amid an armload of weapons. Sources told News4 that surveillance footage showed that he began his attack with a shotgun, but was found with a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 assault rifle.

Alexis appears to have seized firearms from two of his victims as he moved through the building along the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, where 3,000 Navy employees go to work each day, many of them carrying authorized firearms.”
