I was in Home Depot and saw a pallet of muratic acid jugs. Just sitting there in the aisle the other week not harming a soul.

No one in America would even give it a second glance.

It isn't the 'dangerous item', it is the dangerous person or group of people behind it. Last time I checked, you can sharpen a butter knife with a rock and determination. The UK's idiocy towards this issue (and firearms) is pathetic and it is sad to me to see the same thing spouted out here in the states.

Better solution...stop hamstringing the populace and creating more victims by denying law-abiding citizens (subjects, actually) the means to defend themselves. I'll take my 230 grain hollow-point .45 rounds to an acid fight any day.
