He then took an AR-15 out of the camper and went outside,

Man Uses AR-15 To End Multi-County Crime Spree

When the retired officer thought he had fired all of the ammunition in his AR-15, he told deputies he set it in the bed of his truck and took out a second AR-15.

I thought I was the only one who takes an AR on routine camping trips.

Excellent!
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Does that privilege always extend across state lines? The retired Alabama officer was cleaning up an Oklahoma problem. It is probably good he wasn't camping in New Jersey or Maryland as they prefer a less vigilant citizenry.

I have one in whatever I'm driving all the time. Even routine trips to the grocery store.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

From what I understand it varies from state to state!
