It did not say if the crossbow used was a single shot or semiautomatic assault type cross bow or how large the bolt magazine was.

Would that be called a quiver?

Funny thing is at one time the crossbow was the equivalent of the modern rifle, the long bow required alot of practice to master, the crossbow could easily be used by the local gentry, and was the bane of the infantry and mounted troops, it was so bad the pope declared them illegal!

Did it end the reign of the knights since it could pierce their armor.

Not by it'self but it was a contributing factor!

Perhaps qualifies as a mass killing, since there is a total of five dead. The three dead by crossbolt at the hotel, and two more found dead at the home of one of the crossbolt victims.

The link above details another crossbow death in the US. The murderer was a Woonsocket, RI man who was in a road rage incident in 1994.
The link is a 2013 piece.

What is not mentioned in the article above is that a friend of the bowshooter said that even though he was a deacon at church, and was about 54 at the time of the murder (old enough to know better), he was always road raging when he drove, always mixing it up with other drivers. Until he finally killed one of them.

IIRC, the bowshooter's wife was with him, and watched her husband kill his opponent.
