Man stopped for tinted windows. Arrested for carrying a pistol and for having illegal ammunition.

Man is a security guard and has a New Jersey permit to carry. Ammunition is not considered hollow point since the point is filled and is listed as legal on a New Jersey State Police government website and was given to him to use by his employer.

The man has been unable to work for a month. His hearing will be next month.

This is messed up on so many levels. What I wonder is how is the prosecutor going to actually argue the case:

He has a permit ladies and gentlemen of the jury, but its still illegal because?
The State Police are wrong on what is an illegal hollow point? This is where the prosecutor just needs to dismiss the charges and move on.

If he gets cleared he needs to pack up his crap and get out of that cesspool. Maybe move to Texas.

He should get his gun back, record expunged and back pay plus all legal expenses reimbursed.... followed immediately by an apology from the city.

New Jersey is of course a "may issue" state, but there are plenty of 2A folks there like on this forum, who comply with the restrictive laws to go to the range, transport firearms, etc. There is even a New Jersey Gun Forum.

My daughter now lives in NJ unfortunately and can't leave for a couple years. Interestingly tho, last time I visited I took my granddaughter to an indoor range nearby, that also had a gun store. Using rentals, we had a great time and some good chats with the range folks. My daughter lives away from the cesspools of Newark and such. Her area is very conservative and supportive of 2A rights. Not unlike Illinois, where Chicago controls state politics and down state has 2A sanctuaries.. Hopefully SCOTUS will do away with may issue, and those NJ folks will get a break.
