I like this guy. Smart. Clarifying a lot of the liability language. Makes a lot of sense from my layman's perspective - he obviously has a legal background.

oops ... spoke too soon, now he wants to eliminate ALL LIABILTY on part of employer ... that's ridiculous.

They defined gross negligence earlier by example of "Employee A calls and tells employer he's going to bring gun to work to kill Employee B and employer does nothing" ... I think a company SHOULD be liable if they have this kind of actual knowledge of imminnent threat. This guy now wants to say they have no liability even in this case.

Only the ones that Kleinschmidt recommended (1 & 2).

Yes, amendments have passed, but the first two were introduced by the authors of the bill I believe. This fourth amendment does not seem to be a bad amendment, but just clarifying information mostly to protect employers. Is this correct?

For those of us unable to view the stream, do you have a laymans overview of what they are? The tx website doesn't show what they are http://www.legis.state.tx.us/BillLookup ... 21#vote216" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I feel so ashamed that these are collectively our representatives and they have no CLUE what the bill is about and what it provides, while I am sitting at home and completely understand the bill myself. This is close to embarrassing.

to be fair, over 2000 bills were proposed this year, so I can see how its hard to be up on all of them. But, if the aides haven't done the research to fill a Rep in on it, maybe he should get some better aides instead of asking silly questions on the floor. It's called research, and its kind of what you're supposed to have all those staffers for.... :smash:
