Mine's in my outbox, too. Never heard of staying there until it's opened, but then I don't know much about IT stuff.

It's not stuck. They stay that way until the recipient reads it.

It didn't used to be this way, but after the big upgrade awhile back it changed to "sits in outbox until recipient reads it".
