aiwb and cross-draw holsters

#1

Post by Crash »

woops, should have posted this with my last request for recommendations for a 1 3/4" holster belt. Anyway, I need recommendations for AIWB and cross-draw holsters for a S&W Shield 9mm. If OC passses, I will probably wear the cross-draw openly when driving, but the appendix carry will probably always be inside-the-waistband under and untucked shirt.

Thanks,

Crash

AIWB is even more body specific than a regular holster. Have you tried AIWB? What have you tried and how did you like it?

Lots of good reading and suggestions here:

My favorite AIWB holster.... YMMV

Yes, I have tried it and for IWB, it's my favorite position. I have lost some flexibility in my right shoulder, so it's hard for me to draw a gun from the 3:30 - 4:00 position and because of limited flexibility in my legs, ankle carry is a non-starter for me.
Thanks for the recommendations for sources.

For AIWB w/ a Shield (my current setup), I recommend Zorn Holsters Skinny Rig. Unbelievably comfortable. I got mine with the soft leather belt loops. I've had other AIWB holsters for my Shield, and this one takes the cake. The best part (for me) is the curve along the holster where it meets your inner thigh. Some holsters are blocky and uncomfortable right there, so it's nice to know that Zorn took that into account.
Keep calm and carry.
