Yup. I had the same problems last year, too. Also, did he just say five hours of testimony?! At three minutes each, that's 100 individuals wishing to testify.

Just changed from VLC streaming video player to Real Player - hopefully this will fix the problem.

Gotta love the bias in that article:
Some supporters of the bills say responsible gun owners are not the ones attacking school children. Texas Department of Public Safety data shows that of concealed handgun license holders, who had to pass background checks, were responsible for 120 convictions in 2011, many of them felonies.
The author of this article is apparently trying to link "attacking school children" with "120 convictions, many of them felonies." They also intentionally fail to mention how many felonies are committed by non-CHL holders, and how the ratios compare. It was good to hear Alice Tripp bring up the fact that CHL holders are 15x less likely to commit a crime.

I can't watch. The ignorance and blatent falsehoods being spouted by those opposed makes me want to throw my monitor.

Being a former US Air Force member myself, that one guy testifying about his AF experience, and not wanting to be 'tasked as the first line of defense' at a school made my blood boil.
Apparently, he thinks during a mass shooting, that instead of defending yourself, and possibly missing, since according to him 'most people miss their first shots', that you should sit there and just accept your death.

Sorry, but I'd rather have someone with no 'advanced first responder' training and a firearm, and a CHANCE of stopping the attacker, however slim, than sitting there resigned to death.

Honestly, I've given up on watching things like these. For those who testify in favor - I already agree with them, I've heard all the arguments, etc., so there's really no point in tuning in to them. For those opposed - well, like you said, it's just a bunch of bull, and it makes my blood boil. I have no desire to listen to them either. Now, when the committee members discuss it and give it a vote - that I'm interested in.

Incidentally, this is the same reason I gave up on watching State of the Union Addresses (by either party) as well as Presidential debates, etc.
