I noticed that for the Open Carry bill, it lists 1 amendment and a committee substitute. Are they available to read somewhere?

HB 910 Phillips / Flynn / White, James / Riddle / Guillen / et al.
Relating to the authority of a person who is licensed to carry a handgun to openly carry a holstered handgun; creating criminal offenses.
1 Amendment, consisting of 1 page total.
Committee Substitute, consisting of 40 pages total.

You can also see the other tabs for the amendments as written when introduced.

It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.
Perhaps, but there is still time to 1) ask Patrick to expedite the concurrence process, 2) ask Straus and Patrick to appoint supportive conferees, and 3) push for the conclusion that we want, and 4) lobby the Governor's office for adding campus carry to any special session call. None of that may be enough, but it can't hurt.

I agree there's still (faint) hope. Does anyone have details on the exact timeline for conference process? For instance, does the bill go back to Senate today (so Senate could have concurrence vote today), or does that not happen until tomorrow?

So, given the ticking clock, what is the consensus here?

Given the fact that it was the Senate who refused to add SB11 as an amendment to HB910, and instead go for SB11 as a stand-alone Bill:

As voters, do we:

1. demand that our elected Senators concur with SB11 as amended by the House, as distasteful as it is, with the idea that it is better to get something now and fix it next session;

or

2. demand that our elected Senators refuse to concur with SB11 as amended by the House, and take a chance on a conference reaching agreement prior to deadline

I want to start e-mailing Senators, and trying to determine what the consensus (and thus, the message) is...

first off, I think it's not a good idea to "demand" anything. You ask or urge them to support. You don't use the tactics such as threats etc. that's my opinion.

then I think to have the best chance of getting something, we want it supported as soon as possible. so if they concur, it goes to the governor and we remove one more chance it can fail.
