Robberies keep campus on alert

Two robberies have been reported in the Texas Medical Center this week.
Oct. 19: A robbery occurred at the METRO Rail around 7 a.m. The victim exited the train on Fannin Street at the Ross Sterling Avenue stop. An unknown male exited the train and held the victim at gunpoint until she handed over her wedding rings.
Oct. 21: An MD Anderson employee witnessed an unknown male grabbing a cell phone from a woman near Bertner Avenue and Holcombe Blvd. around 7:25 a.m.
It’s unknown if these crimes are connected. Both suspects were described as black males, around 5 foot 9 inches tall. Investigations are ongoing.
