Texas gun owner shoots teen during alleged attempted robbery
Jaylyn Reed, 17, has now been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Reed was already convicted of a series of robberies in 2021. Police say he was released from juvenile detention on May 27 with an ankle monitor, which he cut it off two days later. Reed then committed a series of nine robberies in five days, police say.

...Police located Reed and the other three suspects shortly afterward and applied a tourniquet to Reed's leg before he was taken to the hospital. Authorities recovered a number of stolen items at the scene, including handguns.
The age to buy a handgun is already 21. But the badguys just steal what they want, apparently with no real consequences until Reed got himself shot by a good guy with a gun.

More proof that carrying a gun is better than not:
In several cases, the victims suffered head injuries after being 'pistol-whipped' by the group of men."

And yet how many times do we hear the line from antis about "just cooperate and you won't get hurt"? Anyone with even a shred of thinking ability would understand that little narrative is complete and utter fantasy, relying on the "good will" of violent criminals.

Pics of suspects.

Says Austin, so our armed defender may be in trouble.

How about lowering that age you can buy a semiautomatic rifle to 17 and with it the age for being not a juvenile.

I'm sure Reed has been meaning to turn his life around, but just wanted to get in a few more robberies before starting. Mean while the victim needs to improve his aim.

I’m sure he hit what he was aiming for.

Probably only reason he wasn’t arrested.
