It’s not a happy ending until the prosecutor decides not to charge the two citizens.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

“Cocking” does that mean racking the slide, putting one in the pipe?

Does that now forever end this question?

Even when you have the element of surprise, you end up dead.

Maybe our bad guy watched too much TV.

Wanted to be dramatic.

I give the cop the benefit of the doubt that "cock" means to cock the hammer, rather than assume incompetence.
The reporter, may have misinterpreted, what the police said. It could be that the police said " he was trying to rack the slide, to cock the gun" and they simply shortened it, not knowing what racking the slide meant. If the BG was just trying to cock the hammer, it is a relatively quick action, with the thumb. JMHO

Was likely using the victims wording. ... It's not important he got his message across.
