I’ll probably be crusified on here, but I very much support this Bill! I oppose HB 1149! I’m glad that a person with a DWI or Assault conviction has to wait 5 years! I also think dead beat parents that don’t pay child support should be denied. I’m happy with the current Eligibility requirements in place now.

Why do you want them to raise the LTC fee from $40 to $100? Am I missing something?

From HB2046....

Sec. 411.210. GRANT PILOT PROGRAM TO FUND MENTAL HEALTH
INITIATIVES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. (a) The department shall establish
and administer a grant pilot program to award grants to school
districts and open-enrollment charter schools to fund mental health
initiatives designed to address the prevention and impact of gun
violence. The department may award a grant only to an eligible
school district or open-enrollment charter school that is located
in a county with a population of at least two million but not more
than 3.3 million.

Sooooooo take LTC fees from poorer counties all over the state and filter them into the big liberal cities. Right.
